I disagree with 2. That’s happened in the past and is a farce, notwithstanding not all incidents have the benefit of replay and some are 50/50 calls like hand on the ball/loose carry which should be left to the discretion of the ref. I like bits of the others.

Good work Charlie Gubb. This is why we can't have nice things.

    Two responses....
The referees seemed quite willing to try that every year for the past 15 without needing this new rule

    Or

We are quite capable of doing that without the assistance of the referees thank you very much

Isn’t this an accidental way for the NRL to admit they got the Napa bin wrong?

Are roosters fans still crying about that correct decision?

Sims took no further part in the match with a broken jaw. That one was 100% correct.

Your memory must be faulty, nobody wants more involvement from the bunker in general play.

This was unanimously decided by all parties.

How f**king stupid is the original wording of the rule.

How is the referee in a position to judge if someone can "unlikely to take any further part in the rest of the game"?

Not to mention, teams can exploit this by telling players to stay down and act injured.

Thank God stupidity isn’t a sin, the Raiders would have 2 players on the field

Hopefully this will bring advantage back into it. Atleast 25% of the penalties given actually hurt the team receiving them. There will still be penalties and binnings so this is a happy medium

This is a disaster waiting to happen.

There will just be more inconsistency in the rulings.

Except you know, the rules already allowed for Napa to be binned.
