This has affected me more than I thought it would and probably more than it should. I'm gutted by this, and will be mighty pissed off if she does, in fact, end up back at the Broncos.
This is how I feel too. When she eventually signs with the Broncos and rips us a new one it’s going to be hard to swallow.

I'd take Isabelle Kelly with the money from Upton if we could get her. Awesome player.
Plays at centre but can set up tries, especially out wide. Great ball runner too. She'd come at a cost.
i doubt she'd get a release.

Well, on the plus side we're getting Origin game 3 next year and the first NRLW magic round. Should be an interesting reception for Upton haha.

I don’t know I wouldn’t boo her. Leaving or not there’s no way we win 2 GF’s without her. Booing should be reserved for f**kwits like Tariq Sims and Jesse Ramien.

Couldn’t bring myself to boo Upton, she won us 2 premierships after signing on to a wooden spoon team, besides that she’s never carried on like a complete bell end like the aforementioned names

I never really hated Boyd like so many others. He underperformed for us but did play some good footy too.
Me too tbh. He didn't live up to expectations and wasn't here for the right reasons. He carried on like a prat at times, but was going through a lot of personal demons at the time too. I don't think he wanted to come to Newcastle and fail, it just played out that way.

The nib Newcastle Knights have agreed to a request from Tamika Upton, granting an immediate release from the remainder of her NRLW playing contract, due to family and personal circumstances.
After long and careful consideration, the club has agreed to the request on compassionate grounds.
nib Newcastle Knights Director of Football Peter Parr said Upton leaves Newcastle with a special place in Knights history.

“Tamika has been an incredible contributor to the success of our NRLW team in recent years,” Parr said.
“Whilst we are disappointed to see Tamika depart the club, she leaves this community with unforgettable memories, for which we will be forever grateful, and we wish her the absolute best for the future.
Upton shared some reflections on her time living and playing rugby league in the Hunter region.
“The Newcastle Knights will always have a special place in my heart,” said Upton.
“This has been very difficult for me, because of how much I have loved representing the Knights and being part of the Hunter community.
“I am very grateful to Philip Gardner and Peter Parr for their understanding and support, I’m very proud of what we have been able to achieve together over the past three years.”
The Newcastle Knights has committed to ensuring all details remain private and confidential.

I think what hurts is we know she's just going to end up playing for the Broncos and the NRLW will go back to them winning every year. Yuck.

I am not convinced she will play on. I think football is the last thing on her mind. Especially given that little part at then end about keeping things private. Meeks looked distracted this last season. Something felt different. She is elite. The best in the women’s game in her sleep.

Theres something about the Broncos, Roosters and Storm winning anything that grates.

At least the Panthers fans have been grateful and realise how special it is (that is starting to change though).

I might have agreed with you on that statement, if my experience with Panthers fans at a Knights home game this year hadn't shown just how arrogant and entitled they have become. Acted as if they owned the stadium and the seats, despite them sitting in a Knights fans area.
