NSW Cup team for Round 1
New NSW Cup coach Rick Stone will take 17 players to Wyong on Sunday for his side’s round one game against the Wyong Roos, who enter the competition for the first time this year.
Six of the players named in this week’s squad have NRL experience and will be joined by under 20’s graduates Dale Clacherty, Tyler Randell, Korbin Sims and Chad Redman.
Newcomers to the Club Mitchell Frei and Toka Likiliki have been named on the bench.
“The competition for spots in the Knights squad is very fierce this year and they need to play well consistently each week to hold their position,” Stone said.
“My job is to get the best out of the boys playing in the NSW Cup and make sure they are ready when they get their chance in the NRL.”

That team should go a long way this year, particularly with Stoney coaching them. We are truly blessed in the staffing department at the moment.

It's Anthony Tupou's bro, was in our junior system for a while before being sacked in 2009 for allegedly assaulting a girl, pretty sure he spent a while in the real NRL

Tetevano is playing amazing, when he's actually on the field that is, 2 injuries now he's suffered since the trials but his defence has improved out of sight which was his biggest flaw last year. Dylan Smith is making a name for himself in a big way, junior kiwi and was with the cowboys 1st grade squad before he got sacked and we picked him up from the local comp I'm pretty sure. He's keeping alot of our other best prospects out of the starting pack (Frei, Toka Likiliki etc) so that's a sign of how well he's going. Kevin Naiqama has been killing it every game, I think he's got 2/3 man of the match and has scored a few tries already at fullback, that guy's ability is through the f**king roof I have no idea how he isn't playing first grade. The rest are doing a solid job from what I take, it'll be interesting to see how BJ goes this weekend.

I must say, we have a silly amount of depth this season.

A player of Scott's calibre gets a long term injury and our biggest problem problem is still having too many quality forwards to fit into one side.

The same can be said for the backs other than the halves.

Cheers for that wat are we like for hookers in reserves an nyc

We have Waddell back in the next week or so I think, Chris Adams is playing well as always but I just don't think we'll see him playing first grade again, he'll be gone next year. Then we have Chad Redman who I honestly don't know much about so I won't even bother talking about him but he's still an option.

Our best hooker prospect is still Clydesdale, he's regarded better than any of these other blokes and is just improving out of sight in every game. He's injured now but he's tough as nails, strong defender and he's recently been taking on alot of the kicking in games, he kicks more than our NYC halves which is a huge asset to have. Just think Cameron Smith but a 20 year old version, captain, leader, amazing player, he's no doubt one of the brightest hooking prospects the game's had in the past few years. Bennett has said he'd be confident of him playing first grade already but he wants him to keep building his game and working his way up. He'll be our full time future hooker no question.

Got done 36-30, Leilua did well, scored one and set one up. Api P (our NYC captain from last year) got MOTM for Wenty

Didn't look like they were interested in defending.

I caught the last 15 minutes. Some notes;

- We have some huge forwards..
- The other Liki brother is a tank, he's hard to handle, if he can improve his fitness I daresay he'd be a first grader and a great impact forward
- BJ looked good in the last 15, set up a try and scored in that period
- Chris Adams was brilliant in his short side raid and getting the numbers up on wenty where BJ set up his winger.

All round it was a terrible game of footy 18 errors. Neither team deserved to win an neither coach would at all be impressed. Topu, likiliki and bj where our best I thought bj really came alive in the second half I still think he needs a few more weeks in reserves though
