The halfback was very good....
He wasn't good last week. Hell of a difference playing on the back foot compared to on the front foot for any halves. I'm no May fan but he would have killed this game. Look at the difference in Kenny between when he's playing behind a winning back in Cup compared to yesterday against the Tigers.

The first grade had chances and momentum at times. They weren't on the back foot all game.

Start of the second was something but besides that we had field possession but idk how much momentum. Never really felt like we were getting quick ptbs and putting them on the ropes when we had field possession. Tigers in general went upfield much more easily I felt that was reflection of them just wanting to win more in general.

But at Cup level in a tight or losing game Falls will give away 2 or 3 tackle sets. It's not his fault, he was on a playing Ron Massey Cup until he got a dev contract. Hasn't done a pre season and gotten reps in. It's not ideal but it is what it is. I like him as a prospect back up hb but if he played first grade right now in a game against a team really up for it where we have to defend a lot I think his kicking will get worse under fatigue.

That is the thing with him. Very raw

Not that I've watched much NSW Cup but the few times I've seen bits, John Faimu looks a real handful. Bit of BMM about him.

He goes all right. I went to Lidcombe on Saturday and it was a really good win by the NSW Cup side Against a Magpies side who were going really well.

Some has suggested in here Kurt Falls, he steers the NSW Cup side around well and has a decent kicking game, but NRL is a fair bit beyond him at this time.

It is interesting watching the game with no bunker. There was little or no clutching of the neck, grabbing the face or feigning being hit high. There is a real downside to this new mantra and it is really painful to watch frankly. The NRL has more than a few players who would rival Neymar (the Brazilian soccer superstar) in terms of feigning injury as a result of being hit high or have pressure applied to the neck region. It was no different in the JF game two big sides who really ripped into one another but little or no evidence of players staying down. I guess we are stuck with it.

Doesn't have the speed of BMM but he's deceptively agile and skillful. Don't watch him closely enough to judge what his efforts off the ball are like.

St Marys has a great eye for talent. A Fijian called up from them got a hat trick today

Peter Wallace looks a future NRL head coach. He has them showing up every week
Barring that game against the Magpies the boys have been defending with such an incredible amount of resolve relative to what you see in reserve grade (doing it consistently I mean). All the St Mary boys in the forwards who aren't spectacular but just do their job week after week is something that just doesn't happen in reggies teams. There's some talented individuals but across the board but they aren't chocked full of them 1-13/17. It's just the result of players working hard consistently that other teams in reserve grade aren't motived enough to do regularly.

Wall deserves a lot of credit for how much he's been able to get them up and doing their job week after week.
