That post made my head hurt. In regards to your question, maybe try contacting the CRL, you would have no chance of getting in for next year tho.

Basically contact Newcastle. They'd be your best bet in getting an NRL alignment. Without NRL quality players you will come last every year. You'll need at least half a mil on top of the NRL contracted players if you run a really lean ship, but probably need closer to 6 or 7 hundred thou (cash and conta) if you want to more than just make up the numbers. Most clubs are spending well over $200 000pa on players outside of the NRL contracted players, plus coaching staff, plus at least a GM and office staff. Overheads include training facilities, playing ground hire, uniforms and gear, insurances, and you probably wouldn't believe how much strapping and energy drink at team can go through in a year.

Outside of Newcastle if you're really serious contact Geoff Carr or David Norman at the NSWRL.

I'd be contacting the Titans. Michael Searle has made it very clear that he wants the Coast to be everyone's team from the Northern Rivers to Southport.

Also good luck mate, we need more people like you and I hope things work out! :D

First things first you have to contact Group 2, the Oxley Region or the CRL and see if they are keen. They run the game there, not the NSWRL, and any involvement in the JBC or NSW Cup by a CRL club/region will only occur with the CRL's blessing. If they are interested then you can look at the logistics like who this club will be (ie a new club, an existing club like Coffs Comets or a regional team in the guise of a club), who will "own" it and what is needed to get it started. Then you can appraoch the NSWRL and see if they are keen and there's nothing to suggest they definitely would be. Money wise it'd probably be half a mil per year so that's a hell of a lot, probably four or five times what most CRL clubs will spend.

well im pretty sure i would get the regions support i was thinking of having a number of local players about 10 - 15 a number of contracted outsource players around about 10-15 from NSW CUP,QLD cup,NYC and hopefully try retain local juniors for example Dennis Gordon from the titans (brother of kevin gordon gold coast NYC flyer) and a few other boys .

Do you guys recon the CRL or NSWRL would give a grant to open a NSWRL franchise up here i am aiming for 2010 hopefully

because the existing NSW Cup has got about 8 confirmed teams for 2009 i beleive it would work because it would be a high quality of football bought to the region there are many league supporters in the coffs coast and it would put some of the local players in NRL clubs eyes

NSW Cup is really for NRL feeder sides so unless you somehow get the Knights or someone else on board like the Sunny Coast is doing with Manly it might be hard to get into that comp. It would solve your player problems though. JBC would mean recruiting a lot of players but you'd be a better chance.

It might also be worth contacting the QRL. If they release a statement saying they're interested in expanding the Qld Cup to the Northern Rivers that may just be the kick in the arse the NSWRL needs.

I'd be contacting all the NRL teams, in particular the Gold Coast, Roosters, Souths, Canberra and Newcastle.

This would be great to see happen, would the team be playing token games at other grounds around Group 2?

Good luck! :D

i beleive it would be good to have token games around Groupt 2 from port to coffs but if there could be an agreement with the international sports stadium at coffs to play there they would get more money etc and maybe an agreement with pacific bay to train at the wallabies training facilities which is now being used by the rabbitohs on a now and then basis i have done all my homework but i would need someone else to help me with doing this stuff does anyone know who i could contact to help .

and i might try gain sponsorship of virgin blue or qantas trying to make the flights cheaper from coffs to sydney etc...

Mate if you have the cash you shouild try the jim beam cup first build your team on / off the field then go up 2 nsw cup . without nrl players you'd get smashed by 50 everyweek and you'd be the only one turning up no fun. jim beam cup same coverage on fox and easier comp i think jim beam are pulling their sponsorship n bundaberg are taking over
