NSW Jim Beam Side Thrashed Auckland Bartercard side on Tuesay night their 1st tour game as a warm up to their clash tonight with NZ residents as curtain raisers to the Kangaroos & Kiwi's Tri Nations match tonight at Ericsson Stadium!!! Go the Roos!
The NSW side smashed Auckland 54-0. Now thats an EMBARRASSMENT!
NSW had too much class & skill to overun the BIG side whom just couldn't keep up with the NSW Jim Beam's sides Fast Pace in Play.
The Man of the Match was awarded to Francis Betham from 2 Blues Cabramatta, did not get any tries but played a full 80xmin game of top & reliable defence & dangerous attack when with the ball.

Good luck to the NSW Jim Beam side tonight!!! I hope they show a little coverage of this game tonight...(so unlikely) But will await the news and the Roo's since channel 9 are screening the tri-nations game late. How typical, we'll all know the outcome of the game before they screen it.

Jim Beam side will return from their tour tommorrow night.

Thanks for that Jonelle.
Seems the quality of the JBC is not given enough credit by fellow forum members. Big wins over NSW Country and a combined Auckland team speak volumes of the competition.
On another note lets hope the revamped NZ comp will improve the standard! Its hardly beneficial to the Warriors or Kiwis to have their best players poached and developed by Australian clubs due to a lack in playing standard in their homeland.

Thanks Carl. That sounds a bit more realistic.

Would you say the standard of Bartercard Cup is improving NZ RL in general. The Kiwi's coach was certainly a find. What about on the playing field.

The NSW Jim Beam side lost against the NZ Residents. Tuesdays man of the match Francis Betham was marked from the word go and unfortunately came down early in the game with a serious injury after saving a try against them. Wet and slippery conditions caused alot of the mistakes for the boys but the best team on the night won so congratulations.

I heard the boys had a couple of nights of boozing & outings during the week which I think is so wrong to do before such a big game. Boozing, celebrations & having fun shld be kept and saved for after a big game. I don't know what others think but I certainly wouldn't encourage that if I was coaching or managing a rep side.

Oh well, look forward to 2006 and what the world of rugbyleague brings us :)

Yes and No, while on the improvement it keeps losing players mainly to Australia.

The competition has gone under a major re-vamp next year and one think that i am very happy about is that all curtain rasiers to Bartercard Cup matches will be the U18 teams. Thus bringing on major development.

if you want to find out more come to ur site(in my banner), click on the forums on the left hand menu.

There is talk about the strength of the Bartercard Cup vs Jim Beam and QLD cup at the moment

Losing players to OZ will always be a problem for the NZ Bartercard Cup.

How good is the pay in Bartercard Cup?

NRL clubs should have stong feeder agreements with NZ Bartercard Cup clubs. There is a lot of talent there and the strong feeders may help some Kiwis without the need to move to Oz so soon.
