NSW Residents Team - Newtown Representation

See the media release below. Congratulations to Greg Matterson for the appointment as coach. Thoroughly deserved. He's been an excellent servant of the Jets.

It was confirmed to me that the side is picked from NSW Cup but that one player must be picked from the country and from the Jim Beam Cup, as is practice from past years.

Foley, Ford and Paea are the picks for the Jets. I'm very happy for Mickey. He's been playing out of his skin. A couple of other names in that lineup have pulled on the Royal Blue in seasons past as well.

In regards to performances for Newtown, i'm very surprised that Jimmy Anderson or Ray Moujalli couldn't find spots for Residents.

The bears game would suit me fine. Love the depth.

Was interesting to see upon Foley's rtn the other week being seleceted straight away for the residents as well IMO. I know he is a great player, but has been out for the entire season pretty much. Rep alone I suppose /. Will go well no doubt though.

Hope they have a great injury free game mate in SOO.

Due back around NRL round 20, i mean, he did tear his bicep off his arm pretty much.

Great depth though this year. I still do miss seeing Jamie Soward, Nigel Plum & Heath L'Estrange, team stalwarts, out there giving their all for the team, however that is the way it goes, i guess.

Micky PAEA has been one of the jets best. I hear he is on report from the NRL loss this weekend. Hope that does not mean he missess the Norths game. Not lookin good, already. ??

Hey I heard Foley was given the players player award and the game ball the other week against QLD. If true that is a great effort from him coming back from injury .
