Idris has been regularly racking up 150m and getting through quite a bit of defensive work. He doesn't really get much fitter. Only thing holding him back is having to do that work. Its impacting his effectiveness running wide at speed and creating problems for smaller backs. That's a club issue though with Penrith props not getting enough go forward.

I'd go
Hayne, Morris, Jennings, Morris, Hoppa, Reynolds, Mullen, Woods, Farah, Gallen, Graham, Sims, Merrin, Watmough, Lewis, Tamou, Williams

I like that side but I'd pick Lewis and t-rex to start and then bring on Graham (for t-rex) and Watmough (for merrin) with Lewis playing close to 80 on the right. I would also have Mannah on the bench. BTW both sims and Merrin are middle forwards predominantly, who are you shifting to the right edge?

I think that QLD need to lose a Series while Mitchell Pearce is playing so that he will continue to be selected for the next decade.

Come on Maroons. Throw one Series: Win another ten in a row. :D

I previously thought you were just an obnoxious arrogant prick. I now realise I was wrong. You're an EVIL obnoxious arrogant prick. :p

Hi all. Long time lurker (more than 8 years), first time poster.

I have been thinking about this for a while and I think that NSW has to go with a mix of BIG mobile guys who will put their bodies on the line. This is the team that I would go with-

1) Jarryd Hayne- He is in almost career best form and should not be shifted from 1.
2) Daniel Tupou- Is about 7 feet tall and will be a menace when contesting kicks.
3) Jamal Idris- A huge body that has been ripping in this year.
4) Josh Morris- Probably the best defensive centre in the game (see S Johnson tackle).
5) Brett Morris- His finishing speaks for itself.
6) John Sutton- Big, mobile. good footwork. Should have been given a chance earlier.
7) Josh Reynolds- Out of position but is such a competitor and he isn't Mitchell Pearce.
8) James Tamou- Another huge human in good form for NQ Cowboys.
9) Robbie Farah- Great in attack, defence and bleeds blue.
10) Aiden Tolman- Nothing flash but eats the metres and tackles his heart out.
11) Luke Lewis- One of NSW best. He can do damage on edges if fit.
12) Paul Gallen- Captain everywhere. Can move up front to give 8 and 10 a rest.
13) Trent Merrin- Great offload, creative and does the hard stuff.

14) Tony Williams- Raw power. In the right mood, he can rip holes in any team.
15) Anthony Watmough- Has always given 110% for the blues. Will never give up.
16) Aaron Woods- Give him another shot and he won't disappoint.
17) Tim Mannah- Has been giving the Eels great go forward all season.

First time poster and it's a double post, unlucky. But nah welcome. I think if Sutton is in the team it's bench as back rower or not at all. Not enough creativity to be an origin half. Do think tolman should be in for fafita

1 - Jarryd Hayne
2 - Brett Morris
3 - Josh Morris
4 - Michael Jennings
5 - Jorge Tafua
6 - Josh Reynolds
7 - Adam Reynolds (though they'll probably go Trent Hodkinson)
8 - Aaron Woods
9 - Robbie Farrah
10 - James Tamou
11 - Tariq Sims
12 - Trent Merrin
13 - Paul Gallen

14 - Anthony Watmough
15 - Luke Lewis
16 - Tony Williams
17 - Tim Mannah

Only carrying one specialist prop on the bench, but Merrin and Gallen can add to the prop rotation. Lewis can cover the halves if needed - but I think the time for carrying a specialist utility player are over for NSW. We need to win, which means every player must be useful and not just an "in case of emergency" option.

In previous years I'd have picked A Reynolds over Hodkinson, however I reckon this year they are more or less interchangeable with one another.

Daley will play into the hands of Qld if he plays Hayne at fullback.

Dugan, having played fullback in the past two games, should retain that position and give Hayne a roving centre wing position where he will be closer to the action.

The first game is usually a tight and torrid affair with only a try or so in the result.

With having Hayne close by near the ruck instead of stuck back at fullback is the better option overall IMO.

Daley has to shake off the temptation of changing the positions of players.

a guess as to how much sleep Loz has had in the last week?

poor bloke would've had the bulk of his forwards set apart from a player on the bench.

now with 3 of them out, he would have to decide whether to proceed with similar tactics, the best players for them, or whether the better players available to him now would be suited to different tactics. That's the decision Mal had to make last year after Game 1 when he shunned props like Lillyman, Hannant & Kennedy to go speed and agility with T'eo, McQueen, Gillett & Papalii.

lots of teams here are listing Sims, Tolman & williams. More size, but less mobile than the players lost in Fifita, Bird & Cordner.

and that's all in addition to the halves dilemma and only having one truly quality half, which he won't even pick.

I heard hemorrhoid cream is good for bags under the eyes, Loz.
