I think Sterling said he knew Qld were not going to produce one of their miracle finishes because Friz and Jackson were on the bench with 15 to go.

Frizell is a beast and that fwd pack was amazing. Combined effort. Scary thing is I don't think we get any weaker with 1 or 2 injuries as you have blokes like DeBelin, Vaughan, Paulo, Lewis, Merrin etc to choose if needed.

frizell's running game was limited for whatever reason, i don't blame bench rotation because he did get some runs out wide, so to move jake in there instead which would be a natural change and bring in someone like vaughn for even more impact (more than what jake did) should be f**king scary for qld

It looked as though Milf defended well while he was on which cancelled out the tactic of running Friz at him. That's the extent of what I noticed about Friz though.

Friz was quiet offensively, but I reckon he'll have a stormer in game 2 in front of the sea of sky blue.

They were 24 behind and getting flogged up front, not a hard conclusion to come to.

They won't change a team that won. But when Pearce plays 80 and loses it's a possibilty for Game 3.

More likely as the bench utility though.
Bird is a perfectly good bench utility. There is no reason to pick Moylan. NONE! Pearce is an Origin matchwinner. I wish they'd put him in cottonwool for Origins 2 and 3 in fact;)

Far from the strongest NSW back line that could be picked. Pearce still to deliver against quality QLD spine. That said, the NSW pack is definitely good enough to lay the platform needed but I'm concerned about our halfback.

This is Pearce's most important rep game of his career.

This game will make or break him as a rep player. He'll never get a better chance to prove himself.

Lol Pearce had his chance years ago and blew it. Any halfback could deliver nsw a series this year with all the players missing and how many that've gotten old. Thurston is retiring after this year, this year will be an easy win followed by another few years of easy wins. QLD have nothing left, we've dominated them in the age group origin series for years on end and now it's starting to show at the top level with Queensland not having much talent to select from.

Enter Mitch Pearce.

So long as he is in the team theres no such thing as an easy win.

Poor pennies fans still complaining about their boy Moylan?

I know you've had just about every colour under the sun on your jerseys over the years but I'm pretty sure maroon has never been one of them. Why not enjoy the NSW series victory in all its glory, and then celebrate even more next year when Moylan lines up in the 6 alongside the golden child to continue the run?

If there was ever a reason I wouldn't want Moylan in the NSW team, Pearce would be it.
