I've got a crazy theory... very risky in such a big game but if NSW get desperate it wouldn't totally surprise me

Peats come off for a breather --> one of Pearce/Maloney goes to hooker --> Hayne --> 5/8th --> Bird centre

what do our training spies say?

IMO, Pearce and Maloney are be the generals. They won't be shifted out of their roles.

I didn't see this, but Sterlo hasnt been involved in coaching rugby league forever! Andrew Johns on the other hand talks about it all the time, and he's been involved with several clubs.

In reality, rep coaches won't stray too far from the concept. particularly when it comes to edge forwards as they defend in an important position. comes down to combos and familiarity, etc. the combo Graham has on the left is with Maloney as they do at club. Townsend and Lewis are on the right. You'd try and exploit that! Just means he'd have to replace Cordner. Maybe Captain gets shifted into the middle.

I saw Boyd's interview yesterday and to me it sounds like he's suggesting Wade will come on to replace Jacko in the middle and then spell him somewhere along the way.... He's not a good poker player put it that way. A few tells

Dont be surprised if they decide to use Graham as the back up hooker.
Back in 2013 in the city vs country game this is precisely what happened with these two exact players (Peats and Graham ).
Graham played the second half and set up a nice try from there to Fifita.

Well he is capable. With Bird there also we have options.

Even drunks on the internet could not come up with Kurt Gidley ahead of Jarryd Hayne at fullback.
:joy:
We have a right to question the competence of the tards at the NSWRL when they come up with master strokes such as;

1 Captain from the bench
2 Picking Gidley at FB over Hayne and Stewart
3 Stuart not picking Hayne
4 Mitchell Pearce being picked 16 times
5 Steve Turner
6 Wolfman
7 Nathan Merritt
8 Not protesting to the ARL Qld picking Inglis, when a cursory glance would have made it obvious he was inelegible
9 Thinking Devere was a Qlder because he played for the Broncos (amateur hour finest)

How could you leave out the great lets pick a centre on the bench not once, not twice but thrice....

Gus Gould it made an interesting point he seemed to think NSW has the biggest edge over Queensland in the bench. He suggested NSW had 'game turners' on the bench but he couldn't see that in Queensland only players who could exploit Queensland's advantage when things were going well. Gould is a former NSW coach, but I still respect his analysis and opinion.

Queensland bench has alot more experience then NSW's though, players who have been there before many times and know what to expect can't be underestimated in value.

NSW

14. David Klemmer, 15. Wade Graham, 16. Jake Trbojevic, 17. Jack Bird

QLD

14. Michael Morgan, 15. Sam Thaiday, 16. Aidan Guerra, 17. Jacob Lillyman.

Gus does know what he's talking about he just says silly stuff in commentary.

Morgan will play his role.
Underestimate Thaiday and Lillyman at your own peril.
Guerra is the ?? Will have to just come on for 15mins either side of HT and rip in. I'm sure Kevvie will be trying to get McGuire to play 25 mins in both halves.

Wolfman was okay at the time. Quinn was worse. Bellamy trying to get jobs for mates.

Gaz as 5/8 is another.

Ken McGuiness set the precedent for Walker.

Aaron Raper and Josh Reynolds also sat on the pine for the entire 80
