The Ourfootyteam website has posted that NSWRL have announced an U/17 team to take on the the touring English Academy side. The game is on at the NSWRL Academy in Narabeem at 3pm this Wednesday. Should be good!

It is my understanding that the English have a 4 game tour which also includes two tests against the Australian Schoolboys.

The team is:

1 Kaupulu Poleo Bulldogs
2 Michael Morgan Bulldogs
3 Anthony Moraitis sharks
4 Taane Milne Roosters
5 Dee Jay Harris steelers
6 Drew Hutchison steelers
7 Zac Nichols seaeagles
8 James Parker seaeagles
9 TJ Mclean seaeagles
10 Solia Sinapati magpies
11 Rhys Armstrong tigers
12 Taniela Siale dragons
13 Blake Harrison seaeagles
* * *
14 Salesi Funaki tigers
15 Euan Aitken steelers
16 William Pearsall seaeagles
17 Anthony Semrany Bulldogs
18 Addin Fonua-Blake eels
19 Tepai Moeroa eels
20 Luke Yates knights
* * *
Not a bad team to be honest but I thought Parra would have had Clay, but am happy to see that Poleo, Funaki and Blake have finally gotten some recognition!

Good side. Anyone know who the coach is?

Zac Nicholls at halfback, Rhys Armstrong and Anthony Semrani are some players who haven't had a lot of mentions in the junior reps thread but I think they are players to watch.

Was a good hard game, NSW played well and the Academy had their work cut out but looked a but rusty and should improve. They will need to.

I agree it was a great game!

For a side that only came together 2 hours before the game was to commence which included handing out gear and the like the U/17's did NSW proud! In actual fact they only had a 30-40 minute warm up.

Admittedly England would still be rusty from jet lag but they are still a team that has had plenty of training runs, not discounting their recent tour tomFrance.

England are really going to be have to be on their game when they meet the Australian Schoolboys in my honest opinion.

Again, a big congrats to the U/17 boys, as it was still anbody's game with 5 to go when there was only two points separating the teams.

28-18 to the English Academy boys!

Where was the Bulldogs lock....name escapes me. That kid is a machine!!

Addison Demetriou is certainly a talent however he has incurred the wrath of the NSWRL since his send off at State of Origin 1 in 2011 when he represented the U/16.

In addition he has tendency to shoulder charge (and they are massive when they come off ...) but give away a lot of penalties and it is generally happens at a crucial time in the game!

Has also has an attitude problem but other than that he is probably one of the best juniors in Australia if not the world! His work rate is sensational and tends to lift the teams he is playing on!

The young pommies and Parra are starting at 7:00pm after the Bundy match.

On Addison he is a very good player but is in serious trouble at school, and on the nose with the Dogs since he ran away from drug testers during the SG Ball. Safe to say Dezi and Crusher are not fans.

Did anyone else go last night, it wasn't a bad game. Fairly competitive and the scoreline didn't show just how tough it was.

Maybe you should do some research mate because Demetriou played against Groat two years ago (Bass High v St Greg's) where Groat was under 18 and Demetriou was a 15, he handed Groat his ass! It was on TV!

Yeah you know everything don't you mate!

With respect to juniors playing NRL and NYC at 17 and 18 years of age, there is a strong assumption that only the talented are selected for such honour! Though generally true there are some cases where the boys are worthy of such selection however they are advised not to do so by their parents and managers because they are still maturing physically.

Admittedly there have some serious injuries sustained in such instances, the best example was Jacob Loko when he did his knee during an NRL game when he was 18.

Groat is 19 this year so he would have been 17 ,research that .and 1 tackle does not make him the best junior player in the world ,no I dont know everything .but he aint that good ,get over it dancing gums:lol:

Hey you're the one who put Groat's name out there as the bench-mark and I gave you an instance where that mark was surpassed by a player who you believe is inferior! And even if Groat was 17 at the time Demetriou was still only 15 and for the record put Groat on show!

The kid has an attitude problem as most people know, and if he doesn't get it in check soon he will miss the boat, however it doesn't mean he is not talented. If you played at his level and asked all his peers then you'd have your answers! If you're going to make an assessment on someone back it up with a reason! You have failed to do that here!

As with the 'dancing gums' comment I could respond but I won't! The reason being is I don't argue with idiots, as idiots only bring people down to their level and then beat them with experience!

:D Have a nice day! :D
