Greetings Jets fans,

I was at Henson Park on Saturday and noticed you have a very handy lock forward. I missed his name during the announcements. He looks very promising IMO - big and skillful. Who is he and what is his background?

I'm not a Jets fan but live locally. I always enjoy an afternoon on the cans at Henson.

Cheers

Cameron Ciraldo form Cronulla's 2004 Jersey Flegg side.

You may not be a Jets fan but why not take out a membership either season or foundation that would suit you.

Ciraldo is an absolute gun. Easily the olayer with the best chance of first grade in that line up I reckon.

I remember seeing him play Premier League against Balmain at Leichardt two seasons back and he was highly impressive even back then.

Nathan Merritt was the other player who really stood out. He should see quite a bit of first grade this year, especially with the Sharks losing a couple of outside backs in the off season. He made some of the Bears defenders look very ordinary (notwithstanding that the Bears defenders didn't need much help in looking ordinary).

Bluebag - I'll think about the membership. I've already bought the jersey and a couple of T-shirts, which is not a bad effort a for a St George supporter.

Actually, Merritt will probably spend most of the year with Newtown.

The Sharks have Mellor, Covell, Simmons, Pelo, Mellars, and Merritt all going for wing spots.

I'm hoping it's just these 3 that get a run this year!!!

Otherwise, it means injuries have hit. :(

Hope they go well though!!

I know injuries are part of the game, but hopefully IF we do get some, they are in positions that we can cover with Sharks boys. No disrespect to the Jets guys.

How can you say that without disrespect? This is a feeder club agreement. If you don't want Jets in your team why get the Jets to feed you.

thats right Jeffles, for once you are on the ball. If a Sharks contracted player is out of form do you replace him with another Sharks player who may also be down on form?

Raper will select his best and fittest 17 regardless of who they are.

Nah you took it the wrong way guys!

I just feel that the boys we have contracted should get a run first. After all, they are our supposed "Top 25".

I guess you could look at the 'arrangement' two ways.
1) The Jets are a feeder club to the Sharks.
2) The Sharks give the surplus players to the Jets, thus making the Jets stronger, as well as giving our boys a run.

Let me get this straight. I support you guys. I hope the Jets have a great season. I also hope our boys that play in the Jets Premier League team do a top job. I am not expecting any Jets players to step up to 1st Grade at the Sharks, but will happy eat my words if they do.

I see the current arrangement having big benefits for both the Sharks and Jets.

Good points. Remember that Leuluai, Stosic and Manua are Cronulla contracted now too. So they are "your" players. Although as former Jets I'd be happy that they got a run. Our system works.

Yeah, I counted those 3 boppers as Sharks players in my first post. I'm more than happy to have them, and hope they force their way into the Sharks team.

Who are the "Jets contracted" boys that will be pushing for a spot at the Sharks this year? Any stand outs?

David Hall just keeps getting better and if anything happens to BK (hopefully not) then he is a young player of great promise.

Chicka Cook is my personal favourite as mentioned in other posts but will struggle at first to make PL but is a sensation.
