Week 2 Results
St. George Illawarra Dragons 46 (Quinlan 3, Green 2, Phillips 2, Garvey tries; Quinlan 7/8 goals) def. Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs 20 (Murphy 2, Templeman, Minute tries; Templeman 2/4 goals)
The minor premiers have been eliminated!
Crazy to see them go out in straight sets after their strong finish to the season. Clearly they missed the platform set by Klemmer in the middle and their playmakers were exposed as a result.
Dragons just seemed to be more clued on tonight. Stockwell & Buchanan gave the Dragons the ascendency through the middle with Allen & Ryan coming up with simple but effective plays that really make a difference come finals.
Brennan aside from one cheap mistake was great inside his own half & Quinlan + Green were dangerous anytime the Dragons were on attack.
Dogs weren't all that bad mind you. The backrow used their size effectively and made some great metres but the playmakers were too desperate throwing pressure passes & Templeman was very quiet tonight after sustaining an injury last week. Still plenty to like about what's coming through but obviously without Klemmer they just didn't have that poise that defined them in the back end of the season.
Next up Warriors/Roosters!
