How is it even judged? Is there a 3-2-1 each game voted by refs or something? Otherwise it's just some random selection of players selected by who knows?

The coaches are asked to name a team of the year based on all the opposition player.

Players with the most votes make up the team.

it's always been a bit of a joke, didn't Hunt miss out on halfback in team of year despite being the named the best player? NRL awards logic at work...

Yeah, Hunt was on the bench in favour of Sandow.

In fairness, Hunt won the player of the year due to the 3-2-1 voting style. Had Sandow stayed in the NYC, he probably would have won it.

I found the naming of Nene McDonald on the wing as curious to say the least. He has played the vast majority of his matches in Toyota Cup this year at fullback, with some at five eight when Jackson Hastings was out injured. I don't believe he played any games this year in Toyota Cup on the wing :?
