The Black Caps have beaten India by 84 runs in their second match of the tri-series in Sri Lanka.
Defending a modest total of 211 for eight, New Zealand bowled India out for 127 in the 42nd over.
Dion Nash impressed in his first big match back from injury, taking 3 for 13 while Chris Harris snared 3 for 23.
India was 50 for 5 at one stage and top scorer VVS Laxman, who made 60, was one of only three players to reach double figures.
Earlier, opener Nathan Astle dominated the kiwi innings making 117, his 10th one-day hundred.

we did what aussie failed to do in thier recent tour....

Hang on Ozbash, the Aussies bounced back to beat the Indians 3-2 in the one-dayers, didn't they? Anyway,I think everyone knew it was the test serieswas all that mattered on that tour - the following one-dayers were probably a Cronje heaven. ; )

So many people were bagging the team all of last summer whena massive injury crisis hit our best players, butit's starting to prove a hidden blessing with an exciting batch of young players starting tobenefit from that early exposure to the top level. A bit like the Warriors - the old clubfolding and the new owners beingmade to largely rely on the young local talent to getthem through 2001 will probably prove the best thing that could've ever happened in hindsight.

Just one question though - whyhas Dion Nash come back bowling faster than ever after fracturing his back forabout thefifth time?! He was getting it up into the high 130's, which I don't think he was doing when he was a youngster. I'm going to have my heart in my mouth every time I watch the guy bowl if he's goingto go full-bore until he hears something crack again.

Having said that, Nash is always going to be a "full-bore" cricketer, which is what makes him so valuable to us. I just hope him, Cairnsand co. will be fit and ready to tour Oz,so forums like this onewon't be so unpleasant come November. ; )
