I can't see the fuss, why can't any player make a phone call like that? what does it have to do with the NRL?

chooky the nature of the message is the problem, it was disrespectful and abusive. They were together for a bonding session which means that they were representing league. Most of us have no problem with them having a few too many drinks, but as long as they are well behaved there usually isn't a problem.

no crime was commited though. it's all in the media!

On 2GB they said there was a 2nd player involved in the telephone call. They said "there were clearly two voices heard in the message".

I bet Phil Gould regrets his decision to not impose alcohol bans on the players in light of the Chris Walker incident.

It wasn't Ray Hadley. They (I forgot the name) were fairly sure of what they were saying. I got the impression they heard the recording as well.

On 2UE John Gibbs was saying there was a second phone call made to another girl. It was not rude but the girl was pissed off at being woken up at 3:50am.

I was under the impression that Gould wanted the alcohol ban plus a curfew imposed, but he was over-ruled.

However, he allegedly says that his phone was allegedly stolen... but we don't know who the alleged four players are.... so all this is speculation. But now the NSWRL has taken this pretty severe action against Gasnier, they now have no option but to find out who the alleged other players were and what they might have done, if anything, to contribute to the situation, and whether all the alleged statements so far are correct.

If he didn't give Gasnier permision to take it or use it, then that might also be a factor in why NSW and the Dragons have taken action against him :?: .
