At the end of this year I will have my cert II in business completed

I wish to either

a) Get a job in administration; or
b) Do TAFE and get a cert III

I just have a few questions about both..

1) What's the best way to get a job doing this kind of stuff? eg newspaper, internet etc
2) I had a look on the net to see info about the tafe course and it says that the classes at Belmont (closest tafe offering the course) are offered as full time and flexible delivery. How often is full time? And what does flexible delivery mean?
3) How do you enrol in tafe?
4) How much would doing this course enhance my abilities to get a job in admin?

Cheers....

Hey Dood

See if you can do both, get a part time job in admin (be a glorified receptionist, everyone starts there anyway) and also do a Cert III. Honestly anything below a Cert IV doesnt rate a blip on employers radars.

1. Internet, imo. www.seek.com.au is the best by far
2. Fulltime is basically over 25 hours. Flexible delivery would be corresspondence, where they mail you the work and you send it back when its done, you have time limits with work though.
3. Visit the tafe website, they have enrolment days/nights for subjects, usually at the start of a semester.
4. A little bit, youll basically have a general idea about some meaningful stuff, but all important stuff is learnt on the job. Tafe courses will get you an interview, then its up to you to do well enough to get the job.

Hey PQ

I visit seek basically every week to see what kinds of jobs & pay I can get. But not sure if it is reliable or not.

Is it easy to balace FT tafe and PT work?

I'll contact the TAFE in the next few weeks to see what I have to do.

Just do advanced search on Seek, for jobs within the last 3 days. Nothing worse than seeing an awesome looking job...that is over 3 weeks old.

I find the other main job seeking sites either confusing to use, or so crap no good jobs get advertised there anyway.

NK...something good is to do a traineeship...they will out you through tafe, but you will get experience in the field at the same time
