we need an organiser and a goalkicker sandow can do both why is he still in wenty?

i know he had his ups and (mostly) downs last year but if he is playing well in reserve grade why doesn't he deserve a chance to redeem himself?

maybe there's politics involved or the eels are hoping he will get the shits and leave but i still remember the utter disgrace with the knights and kirk reynoldson a loyal clubman who was left to rot in reggies just to save some dollars i hope with all my heart we are not giving sandow the same shabby treatment

Yeah that was poor what happened to reynoldson. If he played one more game I think it activated a clause in his favour so they didn't pick him.

We're not saving dollars with Sandow in Wenty. Even if he leaves early we will likely be stuck paying the bulk of his current contract.

I'd say he had a chance to be number one halfback in the off-season, and for whatever reason (fitness? tackling?) didn't quite make it. I do believe he'll get a chance in first grade again before too long, especially if he plays with consistency leading a team at Wenty. It's up to the coach to decide when he's shown the necessary qualities in training and matches, and most coaches won't make a major flip-flop on a selection decision until at least Round 5.

We're 1 win from 3, went really close today, and wouldn't have counted on wins against either of last season's grand finalists. Lose again next week for 1/4 and 3 losses in a row, and I reckon we might a change.

It's bad enough we have to watch Kelly plod around but what about poor hoppa getting no crisp balls into space. The poor bastard is confined to dummy half runs (which he is doing pretty well). I'd love to see sandow and hoppa on the right side.

I think there is more to the story, especially Arthur's past experience with Kelly at the Storm. Perhaps this is another Billy Rogers/Kearney scenario.

It was so they didn't have to renew his contract and stuff their salary cap for another year. He had an automatic renewal clause for big money if he played X number of NRL games. Stupid contract.

We signed Rogers on a second tier contract and he ended up getting a run due to injury. Then we got rid of him.

As for Kelly, he wasn't very involved today, with Norman and Paulo taking charge.

After three weeks Arthur is getting close to where he can justify dropping players. Neither Toutai nor Kelly were bad last week (compared to our other players) but this week neither went looking for the ball enough.

What's the bet Kelly is still wearing 7 in first grade next week.

My gut tells me BA will stick with him.

Well if we need an organiser, Sandow is the last player I would be going near.

I'd actually consider Sandow in for Norman, or even Sandow in for Paulo

I reckon if hoppa was on the wing, he would've caught that ball that Norman threw and Vai dropped.

I actually wouldnt mind Morgan on the wing and he and hoppa can switch at times. Morgan seems to make better decisions.

This is the worst part.
I saw Sandow put Morgan into some great holes last weekend for Wenty, Kelly puts Hoppa into nothing but dummy half forcing Hoppa to take dummy half runs to get the ball.

Have you watched a Wenty game this year?
Organising has been one of sandows strong points so far, last week he didnt shut up and did that much pointing I thought I was at some wierd 80s disco party.

Sandow is the last person to go to for an organiser.

That's Wenty. Since when has Sandow put 'crisp balls into space' for his centres? Anyone who thinks he is a good organiser hasn't watched the last two years. He's always been an individual player. At Souths that was ok because his forwards gave him enough space to do something, but when needed he never, ever delivered. He was seen as a genius because of his intercepts, shoulder charges and chips. He couldn't take Souths to the next level and he definitely can't with us.

He put Morgan into several holes last week.
He was told at the start of preseason to work on things, I'm guessing these are organising, defense and fitness. Going off performances so far he has improve all that.
He is up to first grade.
I reckon Kelly wouldn't be able to do half of the stuff Sandow is doing at Wenty by the way.

I will be interested to see if Sandow gets back into the NRL team.

I cannot really believe that they bothered even puting him back at that level. Either play him in the NRL or tell him you don't want him and find somewhere else to play.

The fact that he is not in the NRL team is quite mind boggling. Like I will admit that I don't rate him, but that is more compared to his cost, rather than his ability.

I reckon starting Chris in reserves was the right move.

He needed to earn his place back in the NRL side after letting his team mates and himself (and his family) down last year with his off field shit.

It could be a master stroke, BA just needs to decide when it's time to give Kelly the chop.
