Wasn't so much a bashing but rather talking about how Gallen gets in the way sometimes. They did acknowledge he doesn't have the best players around him though...

Hard to fault him for trying when he's surrounded by an incompetent rabble and coached by an incompetent muppet.

Plays his best footy for NSW and Australia.

love the way he play's, but starting to become a bit of a hog, like bird was when he came into grade.

he need's trust the other's,give them a chance,let them play there game's.

i be tempted to take the captaincy off him.He definatly need's to step back a bit.

Take the captaincy off him and he'd probably leave, and I wouldn't blame him.. He might try too much, but in the end he is one of the only ones that has a propper go and is our best player..

No need to take the captaincy off him but I do agree about him not so much hogging but getting in the way of backline movements now and then.

They said:

Gallen takes the ball 2 of the 6 most times.
On Friday night he got caught with it on the 6th tackle a few times - why?
The half/coach whoever needs to grow a pair and over call him.

Gus came in with:

Gal plays in a lot more losing teams than winning teams.
He alluded to the fact it is because of the way he plays, thus stifles the attck and is solely to blame.

How was Gould saying that Gallen doesn't play in winning teams!!!! He said he wasn't "blaming" Gallen, but you could tell he was just having a red hot go at him.

As for Gallen taking 2 hit ups per set, if he didn't do it, one of the other forwards would. Thats the way the Sharks play. No creativity.

Gallen's game is based on workrate. Without his big involvement, he really isn't THAT much better than your average 1st grade footballer.

Definately a workrate inspired player Gal. Tough as hell. passionate and rates his performance on a personal level on his work rate stats, hitups, tackles etc. But he is not a ball player and in the back end of the set should be leaving it to the backs.

Can understand his reluctance to do that sometimes but he has to step out of the way from time to time.

We definately need someone to grow the balls to over call when they need to.

With Gallen's workrate, yes Prop is his position, but he may stay in middle third of the field, thats why the purpose of signing Andrew Ryan as the other prop for 2012 would be benefical, both great workrates, and big minutes, it would enable that between them they would take 3 hitups per set of 6.

Then we could use both the running forwards out wide and the backs, keeps Gallen away from the backs, but he can still use his offload
