Old Style Dragon Jumpers

Messages

Does anyone know where I could purchase an old style Saints jumper, you know the traditional red vee, old crest and no sponsors who har.
I just saw one on e-bay but its a size 42 and I'm a 48. It looked brand spanking new, not old and faded. Any help will be much appreciated.:D

PS: Lets hit the nations capital and give these Raiders a taste of the Dragons fire!!!

Up The Dragons!!!!

Ghost, there's a company called 'throw backs' who have jerseys made by Classic Sportswear who make the current Dragons jumper as well.

You can can contact them yourself but League Unlimited have a wholesale account with them and have ordered a number of items from Classic... although, I've never ordered a throwbacks jersey as yet butI know they make them.

If you want, I can look into for you. I think it'll be cheaper for you as well.

I recall that that they retailed for about the same price as the regular jerseys but dont hold me to that. I check viaquick phone call in the light of day.
In any case, I'll make sure that as a fellow forummer, you get the appropiate discount.
If all goes to plan, I'll post a price here tomorrow. :)

Ghost, they retail for about $140 each plus P&H.
Its the St George jersey from 1956-66.

I'm still waiting for a call back to find out how much cheaper we can do buts that the basic info.

If you'd like to get one, let me know by email and we'll work out the finer details.

Is that right Tony? Bloody heck.
Wouldnt do you much good in the '63 grand final. ;)

I understand that Classic Sportswear make the Throwbacks jerseys. They also make the official jersey so they should be able to address the quaility of the merchandise.

krammadza, apparently they're nearly out of stock of the 60s StGeorge jersey... plenty of jerseys from other teams I'm told.
But the good news for Poppa Clay's spectre is that have his size on hold and right now I'm just waiting to find out how much cheaper it'll be. It'll all come out in the wash in the next day or so (excuse the pun Tony).

Willow;

Sorry about the lateness of my reply, I have been on the road with work recently. I got hold of Throwbacks and have been able to organize a jersey. Many, many thanks for your assistance.

Willow;

Given that I have been able to secure a jersey, I was going to put Provan's name on the back. I'm sure his regular number was 9, can you or anyone confirm this???.

Second rowers were 9 and 10 back then so Norm would have been 9 or 10

The only picture of have of Norms Provan's back is inst much use I'm afraid.. I'll see if I can find something better from the video:

"Given that I have been able to secure a jersey"
Does this mean you have a jersey or are you still looking for one?

Willow;

I was able to organize myself one after following a few leads on this forum.
I know for a fact Provan played in the No. 9 jersey in the 1965 grand final. So I will go with it at this point.
Many thanks for your assistance in this important matter!!!.

Good news. A late development
Hi tony,
That's bad luck about it running. It is always a problem washing
anything red with white, particularly the first wash. Did you wash it
in hot, cold or warm water?
Anyway. I am happy to have a look at it if you would like to send it
back to PO Box 42, Bondi Road, Bondi 2026.
Regards
