Olzard looks to be the favorite for the other wing spot, from what I've read today. Simmonds was pulled out of the P/L trial because of Olzard's injury. This to me says that Olzard would of played in the other wing spot in the Charity Shield, and suggests he has the early leag over Creagh and Youngquest.

I dont think Olzard would have been favoured for the spot. Creagh and Youngquest would have been ahead of him.

Creagh will likely play against Dogs in the other trial. as will Firman, Gasnier and Co.

From what I've heard, Olzard has been one of the best trainers at the club up there with Bailey etc.

Olzard is a really good player and it wouldnt suprise me if he snares the wing spot over Cragh and Youngquest for now.

Lance we have too Many Good/ Great players at Lock this season.

Timmins/ Riddell/ Young/ M Howell Who I think is gonna be a Star.

Then there is Perenara.. Etc...

I think Simmonds should be used as a Interchange every now and then,

Olzard cames from Western Suburbs Magpies Premier League and was named back of the year for the club. At the presentation night, they showed clips from throughout the year and both Olzard and Greenshields who signed from Wests for Saints were factors in a lot of their tries. He has never played in the NRL before so to claim he is the worst winger in the NRL is far fetched don't you think?

Give the kid a chance and then make a judgement.

Not true....he has played for Souths....might have been the year before last.

He is as hopeless as he looks

No offence but Souths haven't brought the best out of a lot of players since their re-entry. Eg. Justin Smith. Was on the verge of becoming a representative player at Saints but whilst injured at the moment, was not a patch on the player he was in 2002 at Saints.

Olzard is still only young, he won't play much first grade this year as eventually D.Howell, Naiquama or if we are desperate Cooper may go back to wing and move Timmo from the forwards. All I am saying is give the kid a chance. He had a good year in 2003 at Wests and natural improvement and training full-time will help him more in 2004. He will be in Reserve Grade for most of the year anyway.
