Luckily/ hopefully/ I pray the ladder now wont be the ladder for the semis, if it was we'd be playing a ''home'' semi versus the roosters at their home ground...would seem a bit strange and somewhat defeating the purpose :x

The Roosters at the SFS would obviously be undersirable.

However if we were to have a home semi at the SFS against Manly, Brisbane, Warriors or Canberra, then I think we would still maintain a very strong home advantage.

Stated in the Telegrapgh through the week that a home final will be played at the SFS

Think I also read somewhere that should the Roosters also qualify for a home semi that the NRL was considering a "double header" at ANZ

THE NRL finals will kick off with a 100,000-fan spectacular under an unprecedented plan to play back-to-back games at the SFS and SCG on the same day. The Daily Telegraph can reveal the league is keen to play a double-header in week one of the finals at the famous Moore Park venues on Saturday, September 11, if the Wests Tigers and Sydney Roosters finish second and third on the premiership table, which is a distinct possibility.

Both clubs use the SFS as their home ground - the Tigers likely to play a home final at Moore Park rather than suburban grounds Leichhardt or Campbelltown.

Under the historic plan, team three would play team six at 6.30pm on the Saturday at the SFS with sides two and seven clashing at 8.30pm next door at the SCG.

Playing one final at the SFS and the second next door will be discussed further in coming weeks if the Roosters and Tigers continue their current success. The NRL may even consider offering fans a package deal for tickets to both finals.

Nearly 40,000 fans packed the SCG on Sunday to watch an epic match between the Sydney Roosters and St George Illawarra, the Dragons winning 19-12.

"If results should fall that way and the Roosters and Tigers finish second and third, we would obviously hold talks with both clubs about their options and their preferences before confirming the venues," NRL chief operating officer Graham Annesley said. "But clearly the SFS-SCG option on the same night is an attractive one based on the success of last Sunday.

"It would certainly deliver a great double-header event for fans at two of rugby league's most significant venues. With the exception of the Dragons, you can throw a net over the other teams in contention."

Both matches could conceivably be sell-outs, with nearly 100,000 pouring into the Moore Park precinct for the start of the finals.

"The SFS and SCG are ideal venues for NRL finals," said SCG and Sports Ground Trust chief executive Jamie Barkley.

"Given the success of Sunday's blockbuster, you certainly wouldn't rule out a finals game at the SCG.

"Two finals games on the same night would be a wonderful event for rugby league.

"Playing two semi-finals in Moore Park would also be a great advertisement for the game. The SCG is the traditional and spiritual home of rugby league while the SFS was purpose built for rugby league.

"We are blessed to have two great stadiums in the Moore Park area."

Wests Tigers boss Stephen Humphreys said his club would not think about a home final venue until they actually finished in the top four.

"We will see what happens over the next couple of weeks. We don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves," Humphreys said.

Not quite ANZ, but still..... moore park double header. Parking will be crap!

I cant see it happening now (thankfully) but I would be absolutely livid if we played our home semi at the SCG. It is a horrible ground to watch a game at, I couldn't give a stuff about it's history. The less games there the better.

The new reports are claiming titans have allready secured a home semi with a win last night- surely that applies to us also??? I have done the maths though.....

Just had a go at the predictor...we can both miss the 4...but roosters v eagles next week means one of those teams can't knock us out......

A win this week should wrap up third spot you would have to think?

Absolutely. Mathematically, we could even hold it for another week at least even if we lose - if the Bulldogs beat the Panthers on Monday night. We could even move to second spot if the Titans cop an unlikely hiding from the Sharks.

We are on 32. A loss against Melbourne would mean:

Souths (24) v Parra (24) wont affect us either way
Warriors (28) v Broncos (26) wont affect us either way
Cronulla (16) v GCT (32) will only affect us if GCT lose by 10 more points than we lose by. We will go ahead of them on PD if that happens.
Canberra (26)v NQ (14) wont affect us either way.
Newy (24) v StG/I (43) wont affect us either way but a win to the Dragons will secure the minor premiership.
Rooters (28) v Manly (28) wont affect us either way.
C'bury (22) v Penno (30) we'd drop to fourth if Penrith wins, otherwise we'd hold our spot.

One more win and we're definitely in the top four. Two more and we'll finish second, because a win in our last game would put us on top of the Titans with no right of reply... The only way we'll miss the four is if we lose our last two (possible), and Penrith win at least one of their last two (likely), and either Manly or the Roosters win both of their last two - as Borat says, it can't be both, but whoever wins is likely to go on and win their round 26 match. The run home for all three of these teams is an easy one, and the only real way forward is to write our own ticket with a win against the Storm.

R25
Panthers v Bulldogs
Roosters v Sea Eagles

R26
Panthers v Sharks
Roosters v Cowboys
Sea Eagles v Bulldogs

How good is this!

Normally we are trying to find the mathematical equation to scrape into the 8.......

Nope. We hated them and they hated us. It's my opinion only hatred can produce that sorta atmosphere.

Tigers v Parra or Tigers v Souths would have an incredible atmosphere at a semi-final.
