Halifax have been saved from going bust after former chairman Howard Posner stepped in with cash at the 11th hour.
They were set to go into liquidation at on Monday after failing to raise the final £35,000 of the £90,000 needed to cover an overspend on players' wages.
But Posner, who quit the club in May after a dispute with other directors, has personally loaned the shortfall.
He will now return to the helm and turn his attention to the completion of the re-development at The Shay.

"We can move forward - provided we also get support for the stadium from the local authority," he told the Halifax Courier.
"Without the completion of the stadium I fear we could be simply replaying the present problems on a regular basis." The club have also reappointed former Wigan hooker Martin Hall as coach for next season after he was given assurances over the 2007 playing budget. Halifax, who were relegated from Super League three years ago, play their last National League One match of the season at Widnes on Sunday.

Thats really great news, brillaint news. Fax are an icon of the game and it would of been very, very sad if they went under. I'm extremely happy for the club and fans. I know the heart-break associated with losing your club (luckily it didn't last long and we still continued to play lower divisions) and i'm glad the Fax fans didn't lose theirs.

Was hoping something would pull them through... obviously they won't be spending overs in future seasons until they are a lot more solvent. A shining example of the problems in relegation as its stands with the funds gulf between leagues so wide.

I'm not sure relegation can be blamed for their problems. There were rumours of possible bankruptcy even when they were in SL.

Fax's problem now will be attracting and keeping support. I'd guess they have lost a significant number of fans to Bradford.

This is just a stay of execution . Halifax have been in this situation several times in the recent past and it's just a matter of time before the knight in shining armour doesn't appear . One of 'Fax's big problems is the unfinished stadium . Although nothing startling , I used to enjoy going to the Shay . Hull would often take around 500 fans to the Shay . Unfortunately there wasn't anywhere to get an alcoholic drink there . This meant that the pubs next to the ground would do a roaring trade right up 'til about fifteen minutes before k.o. This was money that 'Fax could have had . The last stand needs to be finished and bar facilities need to be available to away fans .Until this happens then 'Fax will just keep on haemmoraging money until the fateful day happens when there will be no way back .
