One plea before the Roosters game re Adam Blair

Adam Blair please refrain from giving away at least one dumb penalty per game.

It really dawned on me tonight watching the second half of the Eels/bulldogs with no penalties (more or less). Its campaigning the obvious but penalties cruel you. Blair is good for at least 1 or 2 per match.

The media and some fans have been praising Blair for improved performances this year but as far as I am concerned there is no more frustrating player to watch. His traits include

- dumb penalties
- shirt grabbing in defence
- loose carries in possession (often like a tennis ball in one hand)
- unnecessary offloads which cause errors
- while at marker he often strikes at the dummy half while in the act of passing
- illegal hits on kickers

He is good for this type of play every week. Compare him to someone like Gareth Ellis, who was probably on similar coin, Ellis is made to look like an immortal.

I for one are desperately hoping Blair can be moved on in the offseason. I cannot watch him.

I have to completely agree with you. Whilst Blair has been playing a lot better this season, he can still be a liability in defence especially when he decides to rush out of the line and inevitably misses. Along with those stupid penalties. Another draw back from him putting pressure on the kicker is that even if he doesn't give away a penalty, he takes ages to get back into the line and so is never there to take the tough hit-ups.

Last week he was one of the worst defensively and then he started to unravel.

Another week closer to closing the gap between now and when we can finally get rid of this steaming turd from our roster.

Has put in more effort this year......sometimes.

Been of more value since no longer playing fringe second row role.

Sell Blair to UK or Raiders and take the hit in the pocket of 100 or 150K.
