Clearly the GC Titans marketing manager is on the ball when it comes to online marketing and web hosting.

Type Parramatta Eels into google and the first result is the Gold Coast Titans Website. Similiarly if you type it in, and click 'I'm feeling lucky' it opens up the Titans page.

Quite smart on the Titans behalf to place themselves strategically in our search group, after all you get the space on the page you pay for. Im not sure if they've done the same with other teams or not.

Remarkably, and showing the deficiencies of our marketing department, the Eels offical site is actually down the page as the 6th most relevant result to the search 'Parramatta Eels'

Unfortunately your position on g00gle these days is governed by the mighty dollar rather than actual relevance. I had meetings with reps from both g00gle and yellow pages recently about this.

The days of having smart metadata in your HTML are long gone. To get a first page position on g00gle you just have to open the wallet.

That's why I've been using dogpile lately. That way I can get a more relevant search which is not influence by who has the deeper pockets.

Yes, you will get the google results mixed in with the results of the other search engines. That's what dogpile does.
