Opinions on Ale

G'day Roosters fans,
just wondering what some of you are thinking with regards to not keeping Jermaine Ale at the end of last season. He was a gun for you guys in Flegg (30 tries?) and two weeks ago made his debut in first grade against the Bulldogs.

IMO he was quite impressive, he has a lot of size about him. He's not too quick and not too agile IMO but he simply knows how to find his way to the tryline. He has been excellent in PL for us, scored two hat-tricks in a month a while back. He scored his maiden NRL try the other night - again, he knows how to get it over the line.

His defence does seem a bit of a concern at this stage - I'm not sure if this is just struggling to adapt to the pace of firsts. For his size he should be doing but we can't complain, especially the injury predicament the Raiders are in.

The only thing I fear is that he could be a bit of a 'mercenary' - this is his 3rd club and he only has two FG games to his name. Whether he uses the Raiders as a springboard to something else I'm not sure, time will tell however.

Just wondering what you guys think of Ale, would you want him back and are you impressed with the result of the 'trade' - Joel Monaghan?

i was spewin when we let jermaine go. big and solid and more time in firsts will see him improve ten fold.

on joel monaghan, i think he has been very solid for us. safe under the high ball and helps get the chooks out of thtrouble with some good runs when we are camped down in our own 10-12 metre zone. when the chooks attack starts to fire on all cylinders i think joel will benefit big time.
