Any news on the Bears Legends and that other team? Was it Barbarians?
As it says at the bottom of the first post. Bears Old Boys will play against other 'Old Boy' teams. It looks like the Barbarians won't be competing in the Sevens but a lot of those players wil probably be playing in other 'Old Boy' teams.

Joe Grima names Malta's '2006 Orara Valley Sevens' squad

MALTA head coach Joe Grima has announced a 15-man squad to represent Malta at the upcoming 2006 Orara Valley Sevens on January 28 and 29.

The Maltese squad sees 2 debutants, eighteen year olds Nathan Attard and Jarrod Sammut.

Malta placed fourth of twenty-eight teams, when the inaugural tournament was held in 2005.

In 2006, another host of strong teams representing obscure nations from all over the world will be involved, including Lebanon, Cook Islands, Japan, Fiji, New Zealand and the USA.

Nathan Attard-Penrith Panthers
Steve Azzopardi-Seven Hills Demons
Scott Borg-Wests Magpies
Brad Clews-Blacktown City
Pat Galea-Wests Magpies
Steve Galea-Wentworthville Magpies
Willie Grech-Sydney Bulls
Paul Harris-Narellan Jets
Paul Marzella-Burleigh Bears
Johnny Micallef-Doonside Roos
Simon Micallef-Parramatta Eels
Brendan Russell-Mackay Brothers
Ben Sammut-Dapto Canaries
Jarrod Sammut-Penrith Panthers
Daniel Spiteri-Newcastle Knights

*****
I'm sure this squad will be one of the strongest in the tournament.

Malta Knights 28 (S. Micaleff 2, J. Sammut 2, J. Micaleff, Clews tries; J. Sammut, Clews goals) defeated Gold Coast Titans 22 (Walker 2, Barnes, Dean tries; Walker 2, Barnes goals)

That's all I have found. This event is not very well covered considering the quality of some of the players that are participating. I am surprised that Fox don't pick it up as I am sure there are many people that would prefer to watch some League over poker, snooker or darts.

I have just been told that Malta beat Sydney Bulls 34-26 and will shortly take on Narwan Eels in what should be a quarter final.
