I've been thinking the same thing about Sifa.

I don't know another player who could put in a quality 80 mins in the backrow, centre or play in the middle.

Doubt he's in the frame though. Copycat NSW will probably just pick someone like Trell off the bench to provide some cover for the backs.

NSW haven't been as successful as QLD in the Origin exhibition games because we never "pick & stick". Selection is predicated on the back of the media. QLD don't give a toss (as far as I can see). They pick blokes they think can do the job and support them. NSW toss the baby out with the bathwater, time and time again.

Well when media appear to have more sway in telling the selectors who should play and who shouldn’t? It’s a NSW land of confusion.
Trell must play. He had a good game the other night…
Moses will part the maroon sea.

This state picked Mitchell Pearce 19 times for no great results.

Two and a half games to Nicho shouldn't be considered the end of the world.

Apply this to ANY team across ALL sports (not to mention business)…
The term ‘TEAM-BUILDING’ is self-evident - you BUILD a TEAM!!!
You don’t change the team every week!!!!!
NSW’s only hope is someone like Madge, who HOPEFULLY can totally block out the noise and get on with the job.
Remember, he did coach NZ to win that international comp last year. Australia beat them in the semi, then they absolutely flogged us in the final…

They won’t stick with Nicho. Media has him cooked. Some commentators had him gone after 5 minutes, you can’t get more premeditated than that.

His general kicking wasn’t the main issue. Just his attacking kicks/cross kicks. Never high enough / don’t allow enough time for the chasers. He nearly always looks rushed / guides his kick rather than launching it.

The game plan also looked shit, bash barge and a lot of flat passes, support players jamming ball players. Rarely stood deep and looked to attack the edges which was disappointing.

I remember only one time where Nicho and Luai combined to swing the ball left and looked decent doing it mid way through the second half.

But most of this probably resulted due to the send off.

Madge really didn’t adjust well to the send off with the right edge defense. Martin - Hynes - Lomax - what a recipe for disaster. Martin is a line shooter not a lateral mover, Hynes is not comfortable defending in the centres and Lomax prefers to hang back instead of Jam.

One try was dead set comical with Martin barely moving across Hynes pushing up and Lomax 15m behind as if this wouldn’t be bad enough if not numerically disadvantaged.

Really poor coaching not to employ either an intentional aggressive umbrella jam on the edge (even risking the offside pen) and turn QLD back inside or all slide passively and use the sideline as much as you can.

Did neither and paid the price heavily

Biggest issue though is NSW play like individuals.
Tedesco the biggest example of this. Because of this, they will 9/10 lose even against less talented QLD squads which we have seen recently

Heightened pressure on everyone that gets selected to stay there increases the erratic play style.

End of the day, they all pocket 30k. Job done.

Good write up nsw controlled by media up to players to change the narrative and in doing so overplay their hand resulting in poor cohesion in pressure situations

NSW first up make Steven Chricton captain, he is the player to lead the state going forward.
Nico wasnt at his best but when you have your centre sent off.
Teddy with those stupid flick on's he should be first gone

Sifa's another one that will get death ridden from the imbeciles in the public since apparently he cost nsw the game or something when he played.

Just on the death riding.

Can you believe the shyte that Nicho has copped for one kick going dead in Game 1.

And it only just went dead.

With a bit of luck it might of just sat at the back of the in goal but no it just went one bounce too far and he’s had to listen to all the crap about it ever since.

Not about his halves partner missing 10 tackles.

Or the dropped balls.

Or Turdesco going solo and running around in circles and f**king up the attack.

There was an agenda from certain commentators from the kick off against Nicho and Andrew Johns was leading the chorus.

I hope Nicho gets picked to just stick it up to the haters.

Or if he was instructed by the coach to take on the line and then when he did he looked around and no-one was supporting.

Was he instructed to do little chip kicks? That’s what most people saw. Didn’t make it hard to catch.

Absolutely. He only looks slightly more comfortable kicking than Chad.
His action is weird and choppy.

Burton and Moses kick through the ball with an effortless action

Hynes is not the right sort of player for SSO. The game so often ends up like the above. And MaGuire , I’ve never been that impressed. And now he will have a team of champions .
