Try and let the maroon seep out of your grey matter before you try and look at a topic subjectivley. I for one regardless of who won the trophy the year before, would like a clear result as to who wins the series. QLD have kept the trophy twice via this very system. Why not reward the better football team. I remember when Goldie popped the field goal in the Super League SOO after 109 odd minutes. That game was being touted as one of the best ever games, it was the talking point for a long long time. It did not adversley affect any of the players health or careers. I remember Mr Bennett saying that the thing he misses most about the old style of football was the toughness and the survival of the fittest. Does this almost impossible scenario you like to paint "What happens if its still tied up after the xtra time? play another period of xtra time? or play till they drop? if this goes ahead it will be the biggest joke that the cockroaches have ever pulled.", fit what Mr Bennett is talking about ?
Or is it the usual double standards of Mr Bennet, its ok in club footy to want the survival of the fittest, but for the showpiece of RL forget it. The poor broncs supply most of the qld team for SOO.
The quality of football is what we are talking about here, and I dont think an extra 10, 20 or even 30 minutes will detract from the quality of a SOO game.
