Whos your pick for what really is the best race in the Country??

I have been a big El Segundo fan since watching him win a group 2 race 2 years ago. Was my first ever win at the TAB and from then on new it was a great horse.

Its run in the Caufield Cup last year was shocking due to a terrible ride by the Jockey (got a 8 race ban or something) but I feel it has the speed to take the big ones Saturday.

Has a terrible barrier in raltion to Racing to Win BUT it has always failed to perform on the inside draws anyway.

Anyone got any decent outsiders worth a punt on the Quenilla??

Casual Pass is the best roughie. Horses that win the Yalumba have a good record in the Cox Plate.

Fileds of Omagh is also a good roughie.

I don't rate El Segundo anywhere near as high as Racing To Win, moreso with that draw.

RTW's biggest danger IMO is the very lightly weighted Miss Finland.

I'll be going RTW, Miss Finland and Casual Pass.

agreed macca. my tips ( which i wouldnt bet your house on ) are as follows...

racing to win....lad of the manor and roughy is red dazzler, dont know why.

no horse in the last ten years except sunline has won the race from outside barrier 6.

Quality fields...

Cant go past RTW. Throw in Miss Finland & Aqua D'Amore/Our Smoking Joe into your flexis.

Fields of Omagh looks alright, I'll need to see what my mates at Bet Busters have to say

Don't write off el segundo, loves the track, prior to the yalumba was in brilliant form, even in the yalumba he ran the fastest last 600m, problem was they walked the 1st 1000m, that won't happen in the cox plate.

Any of my good friends keen to LIFT LIFT LIFT @ AJC?

I know everyone's favourites The Nulla & Riordo will be getting involved.

So are any of them No. 7?

Our Smoking Joe, pray for a lot of rain.

Not a vintage field, but only one horse in recent times has raced in the Caufield cup and then won the Cox Plate, Northerly, and joe ain't no Northerly.

yeah i've always been a massive fan of Racing To Win, and i'm not jumping off now. he's won 3 from 3 over the Randwick mile which many experts regard as being a key to running the 2040 of the cox plate. he'll settle midfield and once he hits the straight, he'll accelerate. i don't think anything can come from behind him

but don't expect him to win by much, he only ever does enough to win

Absolutely right Nuffs. I am really worried about the girl with no weight having the speed to be close enough to snatch it though.

I reckon Racing To Win will win it.

El Segundo migth surprise a few but I dont think he'll win.

Miss Finland is a chance as Macca say's due to the fact she's carrying so little weight.

A Racing To Win, Miss Finland and El Segundo trifecta is my tip.
