Democrat supporters never learn. Demonising Trump plays into his hands.
They over-dramatise things and that plays into his hands. He doesn’t play by the rules.

I don’t actually think he will actually do that much when he gets in.

True but some tradies will.smash you also.
It seems like everyone is out for the kill these days.

His left wing eminence Noam Chomsky speculated that the during the invasion of the Ukraine, with congress and all the free world nonsense going on, the pentagon and deep state pretty much saved the world from nuclear war. Interesting position.

Even if trump pressed the button, there were generals not prepared to follow through.

Vance seems like a thick head. One of the reasons I’d consider voting Democrat is to deny him any decision making power.

I’ve said it before. Trump is an ego driven idiot at times, but Kamala is so stupid it defies belief she is anywhere near being a candidate for POTUS. Her interviews and word salad rubbish is a bit confronting to be frank, then again she’s competing with Trump.

We have Albo who is not on top of any topic, guess politics is not for the smart any more.

Neither are dumb. Whilst both are politcians and winning is the gaol goal, there is one candidate that will do say agree to anything to get a vote. Their moral compass swings wider than most.

Those people come and go. I don’t recall any of them having longevity at the top.

The day Abbott bared his soul

THE way Tony Windsor recalls it, Tony Abbott begged crossbench MPs to make him prime minister, joking ''the only thing I wouldn't do is sell my arse - but I'd have to give serious thought to it''.

Nothing screams “headline” like comparing the USA to North Korea.

Im looking forward to bags of rubbish in balloons being released to fly over Canada.

How about a DMZ down South?

US citizens defecting to Mexico?!

Gronksplaining at its absolute best!!
I see you dodged the DS thing again. Good thinking.

For context, as much as you lunatics are trying to get mileage over the Korea thing, the actual quote is below. Run at me.

You too.

The old, make a ridiculous comparison, which i will then claim to acknowledge is a dumb comparison, but i will make it anyway, cos im trying to drum up some overblown outrage ..... which is of course what i accuse others of doing when it suits me.

When do you think it was for the smart in Australia... beside maybe Whitlam and Turnbull?

The mission of the politician is to get elected.

That’s what they need to be smart at doing first and foremost.

Some people disagree, ol prof here is predicting Harris. He last missed a call 40 years ago or something:-

Trump is the best chance of peace.

Even blinkin has finally decided to exert a bit more pressure on Israel over the last week because the democrats have finally realised there’s big Arab populations in swing states.

Cynical deep state politics.

Trump is not keen on war, good policy position.

A more inward looking USA, very good for countries that have had bad experiences with them, and a change in the owners of capital.

There might not be much wrong with other countries expanding trading opportunities.

The US will continue to trade, may even re-industrialise to serve its own.

Could be great for our economy, especially trade with China.

Trump’s version of peace is to withdraw support for Ukraine and allow Russia to steamroll. He’s said it and has conditioned his side to accept it as a good idea.

Peace in the middle east. Yeah right. Jarryd was going to fix it all and the result was $2B in managed funds and he & his Mrs withdrawing from political life. Well played grifters.

You totally overlooked what I posted last time where his policies destroyed the US ag exports and they had to subsidise farmers. That just added to the US debt.

Ask Australian farmers how the last term impacted them. Our government doesn’t have $US36B per annum to hand out to farmers. Meanwhile the US trade agreement we’ve had since 2005 allows them to dump their excess ag on our markets. Unfortunately for us, it is not a two way street.

That’s revisionist. You’re totally ignoring history. Trump unnecessarily started a trade war with China. He was even name droping Australia as being his staunch allies. What happened? China tested our friendship with Huawei and the 5G thing. It wasn’t really important to them but it was a test. We failed. The Lowy Institute has written about this extensively. In the end, China’s economy took a hit from Trump’s pointless policy and punished most US allies accordingly. Canada, Japan and Sth Korea all took a hit, but none as sever as us.

So how “could it be great” this time ?

The real numbers are in. The resources sector paid more tax than all other sectors combined last year.

Tax is paid on profit rather than revenue.

Australia Institute with a failed and misleading ‘ooga booga’.

Plenty of people calling their bullshit out in the comments section.

Indeed....and if we continue the 'Gronkisms' lets freeze the play here:

The Australia Insititue is not a reliable source by any means. In 2010 they were part of the above strategy titled "Stopping the Australian Coal Export Boom", summarised below:

1730585331886.png

It was characterised by spreading misinformation and using the courts and a shit load of misled donor’s hard earned money to 'disrupt and delay' investment in much needed infrastructure.

How can they be trusted to accurately report tax contributions from the mining sector?

Gronk is the first person to discredit other people's sources, but happily he uses his own biased, agenda driven sources when it suits.

^^^ sounds like a distraction. Who pays GST. Does cranky old guy know what that means ? Has he ever lodged a BAS return in his life ?Doesn’t sound like he has.

I'll wait here.

The whole "we pay tax" thing is a cop out when they have tax minimisation schemes that literally bring their profits down to a loss. If Chevron have made a loss every year for decade, how do they continue to trade ?

Are we talking about the Chevron that made $14.4B and paid $4.3B in tax last year?
