But how in reality would they actually get every one of the 150,000 plus people to all think the same way to bring down a government at the same time?

Your examples of 'the ATO stop collecting taxes' and Services Australia 'go slow on welfare payments', the people looking after that process would just get replaced by someone who would follow directions. You only need one person to follow the directions to make the other 149,999 redundant.

In fact, you don't need any of the 150.000...you just get one of your own government of the day staff to go and do it.
See above.

If all public servants walk out, game over for the government. They simply couldn’t replace them in time to run the country.

We wouldn’t have a country.

There is actually very little that the public service is really needed for immediately though.

If every public servant quit tomorrow, the staff of the government of the day would just prioritise the tasks needed to be done immediately and get them done, before they could get replacements in to do the work.

In the meantime, the government of the day could also then just engage military personnel to undertake some functions until reinforcements could be employed. The reality is that many officers in the military undertake very similar administrative tasks that public servants undertake anyway, so the skills are transparent.

In some ways, every public servant quitting would create a bonus for a government of the day, because it could employ only as many people as it needed. At present it employs a significant amount of people it doesn't need.

And then, the public servants won't get any sympathy from the general public.

Public servants also would stop getting paid, which is what they're all only going to care about anyway. It's not as if they're going to go and get another job that pays the same somewhere else.

There is no reason for every public servant to ever take such action...you'd expect the government of the day would've been booted out some other way before the public servants got involved if it ever came to that.

It's not a swing toward old fashioned principles, it's a swing away from modern, progressive principles, which are a privilege for people without bigger problems to worry about. That's why they are more popular where merkins are wealthier. Enforcing these principles requires resources that poorer communities can't afford.

Is that right ? So if there wasn’t a 5% swing away from the LNP in the 2022 election and just a 0.76 swing away from Labor and LNP were re-elected, then are you saying that their economic management would have circumvented or even dulled the inflation spike that caused all this cost of living kerfuffle ? It was their economic policies that set the trajectory.

We are the best economic managers! Smoke and mirrors. It’s a political fallacy. Modern LNP increases debt and fudges balance sheets by selling off paddocks of the farm. Repeat.

I think this seems more balanced. What I do notice is the reluctance by some peeps to call out one side.

Anti-semistism is on the rise anyway, as a result of the Gaza disproportionate and illegal response.

I don’t think Israel gave enough thought to this scenario before it’s retaliation.

A lot of Jewish people will be harmed for no reason.

Europe is changing demographically over time becoming more Islamised. Some will adopt Western values, some wont

The right is pressing for power now, but the cycle will turn and lefties eventually restored.

The attack on the rock concert was wrong, the response was wrong too.

Otherwise people who want to kill and maim people for religious and ideological views are total f**kwits.

Personally I think it’s a masterpiece of manipulation to create a narrative where the utterance of smallest criticism of one bunch of people brings about wild accusations of horror and disgust. The criticism of the treatment of Australian indigenous people is LOL woke, however the criticism of the zionists is shhhh antisemitism and those allegations are propegated from the very top of our country and its allies. What sort of power do these people yield ?

I’m not saying that they Israelis don’t deserve a fair go, but the amount of cuddles they receive doesn’t seem to pass the pub test, considering they just don’t have clean hands in any of this.

Here’s our boy that represents us at the UN. He’s a lawyer and a Grandpa. He tells the world it how it is.

Yes our guy spoke very well, reflected my views on the issue.

Apparently warrants have issued for Netanyahu and he will be arrested if he travels to certain states.

So it’s a bunker mentality.

I was reading somewhere that Israel blew a lot of regional and global good will and support when they decided to retaliate.

Plus they could’ve leveraged the attack to try to contain Iran.

But regrettably they choose the worst of all possible course.

Doesn’t have anything to do with the Jewish folk here.

As you know, I’m in favour of an immediate end to these hostilities.

I can’t find any other peaceful alternatives but to placate the ruskies to some extent.

Vlad and co won’t be around forever.

1. Unilateral ceasefire effective immediately.

2. ukkie government to step aside. Interim coalition government installed. No nato engagement with ukkies.

3. Safe passage for any ukkies who want to go.

4. No reprisals

5. Fresh elections

6. Reasonable lands surrender with compensation.

7. Pool of funds created to help victims of war to rebuild and recover.

8. Un peacekeepers to monitor progression.

9. Review of situation every 6 months

from what I have seen, there are already things in place to "rebuild" ..... the squillions of yank $$$s being given haven't come for free - and it's not just a gift to help the poor people who got f**ked over ..... so be interesting to see how that fits into any solution when there are big players with fingers already in the pie

What is your realistic vision of a solution to it?
Easy, there is already a precedent.

Following the intense coalition-led military campaign, Iraq was forced to withdraw from Kuwait by late February 1991. Iraqi forces set fire to hundreds of Kuwaiti oil wells as they retreated, causing massive environmental and economic damage. However, with the coalition’s success, Kuwait was liberated, and its sovereignty was restored.

After the Gulf War, Kuwait maintained its independence and rebuilt its infrastructure and economy with substantial international assistance. The conflict also influenced regional politics and highlighted the strategic importance of protecting national sovereignty against aggressive invasions. Kuwait remains an independent nation today.

the merkins pulling sleepy joe's strings clearly showed they don't want to put US troop live at risk .... that doesn't win you voters back home ....... and going to war with Russia isn't trivial
