Not listening to a Raaaay clip, but agree someone facing charges of up to 20 years along with the impact of the alleged action being death shouldn't be able to access bail easily.
But it takes a while for anyone to "fix up" a system like that - all Minns can really do immediately is have a look at the bail laws again, and how they apply in tehbooks to to this particular charge and tighten that.
There's 150 or something local magistrates, and the one who gave this guy bail is just one of them (name not disclosed in any articles I can see). It's kind of like John Wood in Rafferty's Rules if you're old enough to know that show... these local magistrates have a bit of free reign, but ultimately sit under/answer to three deputies and one chief magistrate.
They are appointed by the NSW Attorney-General, not the Premier, and the one local court judge concerned could have been appointed by the NSW government at any time in the last say 20 years or so...
