The only other way is from a natural disaster or a virus/plague.
I took a 4 day break from here and have been studying the bible. It predicts a lot of things that have happend.
That reminds me of the Archbishop of Sydney trying to explain drought / God.

Perhaps some people take the bible to literally rather then use the stories as a guide and how it was perhaps meant to be. A way in interpret things and give hope.

Insert *climate change* as the context in 30 years and this speech can be repeated almost word for word.

Yep. Thanks Twitter merkins for providing that context. How does it render the PM's point invalid?

Agree. We do need to think of the children as unnecessary anxiety is cruel.

Like the kids in off-shore detention who were some were committing self harm and attempting suicide.

Agree that he isn't logically consistent on those two issues.

He probably wanted to say that he doesn't like seeing little shits carry on about climate change like over-exaggerating f**ken idiots but that might not have gone down so well.

How about this perspective, twitter f**kwits!

Australia is the runaway global leader in building new renewable energy

In Australia, renewable energy is growing at a per capita rate ten times faster than the world average. Between 2018 and 2020, Australia will install more than 16 gigawatts of wind and solar, an average rate of 220 watts per person per year.

This is nearly three times faster than the next fastest country, Germany. Australia is demonstrating to the world how rapidly an industrialised country with a fossil-fuel-dominated electricity system can transition towards low-carbon, renewable power generation.

Ping @Hollywood Jesus. Timely article given recent discussion on here...

CO2 is plant food': Australian group signs international declaration denying climate science

A group of 75 Australian former and current business figures – including mining engineers and retired geologists – have signed on to an international declaration targeting the UN and the EU and claiming “there is no climate emergency” and that “CO2 is plant food”.

Several of the signatories to the group – which described itself as Clintel – have high-level links to conservative politics, industry and mining.

They include Hugh Morgan, a former president of the Business Council of Australia, and Ian Plimer, a director on Gina Rinehart’s Roy Hill Holdings iron ore project.

The move was designed to coincide with the UN’s climate action summit and general assembly in New York.
