I don't think that Scomo can be blamed for all the LNP's woes. I'm leaning more towards a changing of the guard, boomers > millennials and the LNP's failure to read the market. Politicians, their public servants and the MEDIA have led this country into an abyss that will end up costing OZ plenty in the long term............on both sides.

On VIC, there is no doubt that there was a groundswell against Andrews, but even if you didn't like some of the decisions he has made in recent years it would be pretty hard to vote for the other mob.

There is an absolute dearth of decent conservative leaders across the country and some of the bat shit crazy religious nutters that have been put forward as candidates in recent elections is concerning.

The party needs a serious rebuild across the board at this point.

If you look at the primary vote numbers, pretty much nothing changed.

Labor dropped about 6% .... this is really the only significant change, but its not overly significant enough to change the outcome. ... the coalition gained almost nothing so made no impact.
Libs roughly even but nationals gained a little to balance it out for coalition.
Greens primary vote did nothing but they gained a seat due to preferences.
Independents primary vote stayed same but lost seats.
There were a few new other parties who got a share of the vote.
People talk about religion losing ground but Family First party got 2.8% of primary vote in their first go in victoria and Freedom Party got 1.8%. Both would probably be capturing the religious right. These other parties basically picked up the balance of the primary vote Labour dropped (not necessarily directly, but its how it balanced out.

Two party preferred, the coalition improved 3.5%, but obviously that dont win you an election.
