The kid who won the U17 100m national record Peacock, was part of Bulldogs Matts in 2024, but has gone to sharks.

Back to Goat Gout, jump to 6h 19m mostly to listen to the very knowledgeable commentators talk about him after his race. That 200m was second fastest all time for his age in the world and yes, better than Usain Bolt at same age.

Well he ran U18s race cos he turns 17 in 2 weeks. Same same I think ?

Anyway, you can shake it up in a tin and still come up the still result. Amazing. Hope that he can deliver on the world stage.

Next stop are subs. If you watch the ^^^ post race interview, he's not in a hurry.

World Athletics says that his 200m run yesterday was 23rd fastest this season. Perspective however means that he would be eliminated in Semis in big meets.

But ALSO on his rise, he competed in the World U20's in August.

"The best Under-20 men's 200m times of 2024 include Bayanda Walaza of South Africa clocking 20.52 to win gold at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Lima. Gout Gout of Australia achieved a personal best of 20.60 for silver, while Jake Odey-Jordan from Great Britain took bronze with 20.81."

So his PB in August was 20.60 and he ran 20.04 yesterday FFS in December. That's crazy.

I get that Raygun would not like anyone profiting from her image / story, however it’s a stretch that she owns the “kangaroo dance”. Personally methinks she has opened an indigenous can of worms there that she might regret.

wouldn't the show provide her with a lot of free publicity ?

why the f**k would you want it stopped ?

Maybe it's laughing at her and not taking her "craft" seriously.

yeah, but that's what comedians do, they hang shit on everyone and everything, it's called comedy, you have to be able to have a laugh at yourself, life's too short

perhaps she is a bit too precious, then again, lucky she didn't see Jim Jeffries's show, he did about 15 min on her

Gout's 20.04 200m would have placed him in 6th place at the 200m final in Paris. He's 16. Omg.

Yeah I know, but this is a bit like Melbourne Cup day where everyone beomes a horse expert.

He would have had to run that kind of time in the heats and finished top 3 in his semi just to make the final. So I am not into it enough to know if that is realistic. Amazing time.

If you watch the YouTube vid ^^^ that I posted the commentators were saying that a kid that age after running two PBs in 100m should have really been put away for two weeks to recover. Yeah amazing that he felt fresh and was able to run a massive PB in 200m. That elderly lady that is his coach was so proud.

Hmmm !

Yanks have picked up on Gout2. Merkin reckons that his backend 100 in the 200m is about 9.6.

From SMH

In awful news for pun-seeking headline writers across the country, it turns out Australia’s newest sporting star should be known as Guot Guot, and pronounced “gwot gwot” – not like the form of arthritis that causes painful inflammation in the joints.

The Gout Gout (Guot Guot) hype keeps coming.

Analysing his last leg of the 4x100 in the AusSchools meet last weekend, the yanks have worked out that he ran a (mobile) 9:36 !

So right now that gives him an all time ranking in history. Not shitting you. He’s in the red.

The GABBA looks all right . Why can’t it be used for the 2032 olympics ?

Why does the new guy want to knock it down ?

The ground is a piece of shite. I was there 15 years ago and it was rubbish then. Allianz Ver 1 was so much better, and that has had a re-build.
It's also in a very confined space and cannot be enlarged to the size of an Olympic Stadium with decent capacity.

The new guy wants an Olympic quality stadium. It can't happen at The Gabba.

I went up there for the 2017 Ashes series i thought it was passable. But I wouldn't call it world class.

Did the Gabba have a hill in the 1980s and 1990s.

Because if they did and they had there time over again they should have kept one hill like Adelaide Oval. What Adelaide did correctly was keep the hill and the historical elements to that ground.

After going to Adelaide for Origin last year the stadium is world class with the modern stands and facilties but kept the hill as well.

Gabba just feels like a football ground with no heritage mystique about it.

The biggest problem with the Gabba is i don't think they can do much more then what they have currently have.

You basically got high rise apartments right on top of the ground on one side

And the other side of the ground is basically hanging over i think Stanley Street side of the ground.

So what can they actually do to the ground with extensions.

Also getting dropped off near the ground was a nightmare in the uber.

We had to get dropped off at the Pineapple hotel before and picked up from there from memory.

@hineyrulz would know the Gabba more then me.

But i assume it's always like that all the time a prick of a place to get in and out off when it's busy.

Well I have never been to there, but was just thinking that the first proposal for 2032 was Opening Ceremony at Suncorp and Athletics at Gabba or something like that to save cash.

Personally, I think that the sustainability of the CommGames and Olympics are all about setting aside the bling (without compromising on the actual facilities for the athletes) and not going broke.

Nek minute the new guy wants to build a $3B stadium. We’d all like a Ferrari in the garage, but are they practical?
