I know there a few musicians amongst us.
Since all our gigs have been cancelled I’ve decided to stuff around with GarageBand.
Had no idea how to use it.
Came across a dude on YouTube called Pete Johns does little instructional vids on it.
It’s pretty cool.
Any of you use it???

Full on recording studio on your phone.

I have been using it on and off for about 15 years.
Used it all this past weekend doing a couple of demos.
I only use it off my iMac though, I have played with it on the ipad but not for a while

Get a midi and you can plug your guitar and mike straight into it. Pick a guitar, pick an amp... bingo. Some of the drum samples are ok too. I usually get the beat and tempo I want then C and P for the length of the song. You can play the drums on a keyboard, or you can have them so they go along with you but I just use them like a metronome.

Also yycanoiu can pick string instruments and horns. Just play the notes on your guitar or keyboard and they come out as either. I don't really use it that way though, I just like to demo with it.

I have a Steinberg UR44 . I use that and I‘Ve got a little adapter for lighting plug to USB between the iPhone and UR44.
I can record up to 6 tracks Simultaneously to iPhone.
Quality is awesome.
I have recorded a few songs and played drums , sung everything .. our drummer leaves his electric Yamaha setup in my joint.
I’m no drummer though.
Im good until I have go from verse to chorus.

you can share tracks via WhatsApp and import them straight into a song.
It is cool.
That dude is very helpful.
Explains it all in simple terms.

It’s a fairly bit different on the iMac version, the iMac is much harder but still easy. Thanks to you an$ the vid I started to be able to use my iPad much easier!

The dude’s music is pretty ordinary but he gets to the point pretty quickly.
I don’t know if you’ve ever watched any guitar tutorials but 3 mins in and they are still crapping in about subscribing to their page.

I've recorded stuff at home in the phone.
Gone to work and at lunch watched his vid on mixing and mixed my recording while at work.
It’s unreal like that.
