Other nationalities playing city country

There is a host of players set to play for city country that have played for nations other than OZ.

If you play for city country you must be eligible for NSW, and therefore Australia, right?

Guys like Tyson Frizell, Paul Vaughan, Daniel Tupou, BJ Leilua, Aku Uate.

If other nations took the opportunity to play matches on the designated rep weekend, this would help solve the problem - and benefit the game.

Or make city country not affect intl'l eligibility? The short term option.

Unfortunately the NRL clubs only release their players for SoO and we'd see some mystery injuries arise just as the Samoan and Fijian teams are discovering. Until Australia loses it's obsession with SoO international RL will bumble on just as it currently is with no concerted effort to put it (international RL) where it should be. The tail is wagging the dog yet again.

It is a common problem in our sport because the rules are weak and not enforced anyway. Not a lot has changed in 20 years.
