Our Club's Fall From Grace

Tonight our Mighty PL team featuring superstars of tomorrow such as William Zillman, Mark Herbert and Joe Picker got absolutely annihilated by St George. Coached by the little Legend Andrew McFadden, the team finished the regular season in 4th position and were considered a major title contender after having the best attack in the league. Following the miserable effort displayed in first grade last week, PL were Canberra's only remaining hope for a spot in a Grand Final.

So wouldn't it make sense to have the head coach of first grade help out wherever he can in the leadup to the biggest match of these young guys' careers? Matthew Elliott would have been in Cappy's ear all week giving him some 'helpful' hints and telling the players that they weren't expected to make the 4, so anything from here on would be a bonus. After that sneaky little grin last week, one can only wonder whether PL's massive loss tonight had anything to do with Mr Elliott?

Yeah, my brothers' best friends sister-in-laws cousin told me he also planted a bomb in Raiders HQ which is set to go off on Grand Final weekend.

Either you're joking or you've got issues.

Yeah, big call mate. Obviously the side didn't turn up to play and got smashed! Very disappointing.

Now I understand why we went down so badly last night ... I blame Elliott.

Boyo, I thought they would have asked him to clear his office last Sunday morning ... and than brought in the fumigator to rid the place of any reminants.

Arh well, you learn from your mistakes.

I'm just waiting to see who Bay & co will be blaming next season if things don't go our way, now that Elliott's out of the picture :p

That is a good question jedski ... well, it wasnt a question so much as a remark, but I'll answer it anyway.

I cant speak for the "co" but I can for myself.

I havent really decided yet who I will blame nor if there will be anything to blame someone for.

Rest assured though that if there is any individual or individuals that need blame laid on them I will be the person that will lead the blamers. The blamee will receive the same effort in criticism from me on this and other forums that Elliott received.

I hope that clarifies my stance on this issue. :)

of course we'll blame him for previous mistakes ... who would you blame ?

the fact is some of those previous mistakes will have an affect on the team for a few matches into next season
