Oh it was a pearler of a game. The boys got away to a 12-0 lead and we thought we were home and hosed but the Panthers fought back. Talk about a heart stopper! Dennis Fitz-d*ckhead was there and as I walked past to leave I looked at him and said "Gee, lets hope we can actually KEEP these juniors" and walked off. Poor Jess was mortified... Sorry Jess :D

Congrats to all who played and the staff involved. Hope the best of them play with us for many years to come and win a first grade GF with us.

Excellent game of footy between 2 good sides. We took it easy in the 2nd half and thats how Penrith got back and they were also very pumped. And I dont think we even get one penalty all game. The ref was a joke we also had one try dissallowed which looked OK.

Our harold mathews team was renouned for its attack and defence but it was definately the defence that won us the game. I could of counted 10 last ditch try saing match saving tackles in the last minutes it was awseome! Parra looked like a well drilled team and credit must go to the coach.

Players that stood out were:

Keating- He plays beyond his years

Tim Mannah- This kid is the ultimate go forward machine

Tony Williams- Eric Grothe/Tiquiri version 2

Joseph Matale- Animal.

Jarryd Hayne- This kid is a champion and it was noticeable that while he was off the field injured Parra suffered. He had a quiet game by his standrads but looked threatening everytime he touched the ball. He came up with some crucial try savers in the last 5 minutes to save Parra and also throughout the game. Out of this lot this the player that will make it to the NRL 1st. He is 16 now I'll give him2 years max beore we will see him, he is that good.

These are the most talented youngsters that I have seen come through our ranks at this age. Lets hope we can keep them together especially the 4 i just mentioned

was that number 17?

*checks book?*

yep! this guy defines ANIMAL!! what a champ!!
we dropped the ball close to our line, about the 20m mark and this guy turns around, jumping up and down, angry as hell, screaming:!! ""AAAARRGGGH!!"
next play, then some poor bastard from penrith got the ball, and matale runs at him smashes him to the ground, makes his presence known!! i think the penrith guy was too scared to play the ball!!
THEN: some poor penrith bugger had the hide to push away from matale and make a brake. the next time he got the ball matale comes bursting outta the line from nowhere and buries him.
such biff from such a youngster, my new hero!! :p

i just prefer the subtle approach of abuse, i would have been happy to walk behind him, push him off that table he was standing on, and run like all hell!! :D :D

also i want to agree with Jake's singling out of Tony Williams the winger, he had a top game, and add Kris Keating, the captain, i dunno if he had the best game out there, but he's one hell of a captain.. Well Done!!

also the number 8 in that game was a Robinson, Tim Robinson, Chad's younger brother...

I met Tony Williams parents and his brother at the game yesterday. And they were proud, showed me his medal and everything - really lovely people. Hopefully we can keep the likes of these kids around for a long time to come...
