pacific 6 nations idea

While australia has its SOO

Here is my idea for a Pacific 6 nations played every year

Have 2 pools of three, each teams plays each other once and top of the pools goes on to play a final. Also 2 bottom teams play in a relegation with an Australian Aborginal side and NZ Maori side or even USA down the track. Play some games in NZ and Aus and also in home nations.

For example

New Zealand, Samoa, Cook Islands
PNG, Fiji, Tonga

And NZ still keeps its test match with Australia.

YES I KNOW THE NRL AND CLUBS WONT ALLOW IT..

the problem is that concept would take 4 weeks (3 weeks for games plus 1 for final)

better off keeping it a 4 nations with each playing each other once with no final (3 weeks)

you can have a 2 tier 4 nations at the same time with the bottom team being replace by the winner below

I think to start something really simple but effective would be best. That way the Clubs & player's association don't flip their shit, which is unfortunately the way it would be. Start simple and build the concept so hopefully it will be something to keep players with Lacific Nations. All played mid-season annually except for maybe 1 weekend.

Week/end 1
Samoa V Tonga (Polynesia Cup)
PNG V Fiji (Melanesia Cup)

Week/end 2
P1 V M1 (Pacific Cup)

Week/end 3
NZ V PC1

Week/end 4
NZ V Pacific Islands select

The last one will be controversial, but there's no denying in my eyes the public and players would embrace it. It would be another big game for Island nation players to aspire to, unfortunately there are so few of them at the moment.

LOL funny how you guys think players want to play more games....look at the past few years at how many players pull out of their national teams for rest/injuries.
