It's August and we have a full fixture for the four nations and the European competitions. But I have heard nothing about a Pacific cup in 2014, does anyone know what is planned for the likes of Fiji Tonga and png this post season. Sadly I suspect nothing but hope I am wrong

We've learnt nothing and failed to build on rlwc's in 08 and 13.

These nations are completely ignored, yet then expected to compete with the big 3 every 4 years at a World Cup. Just ridiculous! At the very least, run a pacific cup alongside the four nations, even use the same venues!

Fiji have 3 matches.
http://fijivillage.com/sport/3-confirmed-matches-for-Vodafone-Fiji-Bati-r259sk/

"Rabele said two of these test matches will be played overseas and this is a chance to give our local players the much needed exposure.

Rabele confirmed the Bati will take on Canada in a one off test match on the 27th of July.

They will later host the Indigenous All Stars on the 28th of September which is expected to feature top NRL players like Ben Baba, Greg Inglis, Jonathan Thurston and Sam Thaiday.

He said they have also accepted an invitation to play against Lebanon."

The Lebanon match sounds like it'll be post season which opens up the possibility of NRL players featuring. Would be great if televised.

PNG to play Prime Ministers XIII as usual and they're supposed to be playing another yet unconfirmed nations ( I thought I read earlier it was italy but I can't find anything to back that up)

I don't think Tonga are playing any matches

PNG. Tonga and to a lesser extent the other countries in our regions (except Fiji) - your administrative bodies should be ashamed.

To be honest, I like many others initially blames the RLIF - or lack thereof - but now I blame the individual admin bodies.

Why cant these groups arrange games? select players?? challenge other nations?? The players are on twitter FFS saying they would love to play so whats the problem?

I sincerely hope I am wrong in this and would love someone to tell me otherwise, but Tonga and PNG and Cook Islands should have arranged a game the same weekend as the Fiji / Samoa match.

Instead we have silence.

Those Fiji matches are Fiji A, not the test team. And yeah, it's partly the nations own fault but to be fair there is very little money in these places and they shouldn't be required to organize their own tournaments, this should be happening every year from the RLIF/Asia-Pacific Federation (which I'm still not even sure it exists) like it does in the Northern Hemisphere with the RLEF.

Did not know Tonga was playing PNG.
That is wonderful.
Also, great to see a couple more Cook Islands players in the NRL.
