Read this last line of the ABC NEWS Sports site on the article related to the NRL draw and have to say i cant find any other record of the proposed game(s) at this stage.

Anyone else able to shed light on this ?

"
The mid-season Test between Australia and New Zealand will be played on a stand-alone representative weekend from May 1-3, which will also include a Pacific Island double header."

will the France/ England game line up with the NRL rep weekend?
keen for the expansion and hopeful for more matches on rep weekend.

Hopefully we can get a global rep weekend so SL players are eligible.

Yeah rotten buggers, we were better off under the other dude

Great stuff, I hope it ends up being a 6 team tourny in the future giving the other Island nations a crack and maybe opening the door for the USA, Canada or Jamaica to qualify.

Good news. Hope some foresight has been put into the selection process this year. An extra international will leave the prestigious City v Country & Origin u20s struggling to put a team together.

Yep. certainly is a start to get the game where it belongs.

Good news is PNG, Fiji will get stronger with the NSW/QLD Cup ties

Any reason they keep playing at Penrith rather than say Parramatta

I know there are a lot of Islanders in that area - but Parramatta would be more accessible for other areas

Penrith has less games on it with no Wanderers. So the surface can handle it better

Didn't they sanction the end of year tests this year? Yet no one played.

didn't png play tonga??

and i don't think i mean sanction...just not get in the way of progress...

the ARLC/NRL should be the ones saying to the island nations & APRLC "hey you guys should be playing and give us a shout if you need any help"

this double header is a step in the right direction so im not going to grumble..

Is the Pacific Test played mid year not part of the current TV agreement, which would be the main reason it will be and has been played in Sydney, ie. costs.

why would it be??

the NRL/ARLC have absolutely no right selling rights to other countries games....

PNG,TONGA,FIJI,SAMOA & APRLC need to sitdown and come up with a package to sell to a broadcaster
