This could be harder than second row.

Royce, first rep player, heart and soul of Penrith, tough as nails

Gower, talented, tough, versatile

Priddis, Best GF performance in the history of the game, it was perfection

Api, going from a fringe top 8 side to Minor Premiers when he signed was no coincidence

Kenny, 3 Premierships in a row and would have been 4 if not for his sacrifice in the 21 semi. Doesn't have the natural talent of the above, but by christ he works well in our setup.

Priddis was outstanding for us in 03/04. He was very good in 02 and tried his heart out in 05. He would have played more tests for Australia if not for Buderus.
The Elliott years were his nadir. Used and treated poorly by an imbecile.

Api was good in his first stint and outstanding in his 2nd stint.

Royce is the best though. When hookers were different. Tough, crafty, and with the heart of a warrior.

Sorry for intruding,
There can be only one, and that one is Royce, hands down.
I'd hope coming from an outsiders perspective that carries a different type of weight.
A champion of your first Premiership, NSW and Australian rep.
When someone that supports another club feels tstrongly about another player you know that said player means that bit extra.

I think it was our Week 1 final in 2003 against the Broncos, and Priddis was injured or suspended, and Donato played his only NRL game of the year and f**king dominated. He was too good for NSW Cup.
My Brother was good mates with him, I assume still is.

Hurt his hand in the semi final and that’s all she wrote.

I agree, he was one of those players that was too good for reserves but never really made in the NRL..

Yes valuable contribution that day. We lose to the Broncos then 2003 looks very different. We would have run into the Roosters if we made the prelim.

Haven't developed one in almost 40 years though....

Api is our best. Yes Priddis played the best GF of all time but that's not enough

Gower was an excellent hooker. If he'd been in a strong and well run club for most of his career he'd have been a near peer to Cameron Smith. I know some might call me crazy - but I think he'd have been better at least offensively.

At the end of his career, Wallace was more than a handy Hooker, he was inline for a Kangaroos jersey but the 3rd ACL injury and subsequent retirement stopped that in its tracks.

Back in the Elliot days we had Paul Aiton and Masada Iosefa (RIP). Both of them had real ability but poor coaching really stuffed their careers though Aiton was able to still carve out a decent one.

And of course, Kenny is home grown...

Forgot Gower. He was probably a better 9 than 7.

Kenny is really a middle, he's done great for us but he's got almost no attacking ability. Just works for us because Yeo is a god

After much agonising I've gone Gower. Drop him in our current side and we go 5 easy.

Simmons - no contest here.

Everyone else is just flash without substance in comparison.

(plus he is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet)

Royce can't be coach so he has to be hooker :D

Different era of course, but he was great in his and everyone loves him, he is the Penrith Panthers - 91 was a fitting farewell for the legend - for me Gower is the other one, so talented and tough
