Panthers CEO Warren Wilson has quit the club just two weeks out from the start of the National Rugby League (NRL) season.
It is understood Mr Wilson is resigning for personal reasons.
The former TAB boss has been linked to the vacant CEO job at the NRL but the Weekender understands he is not leaving the club to take up that role.
The resignation is the latest in a long list of executives who have left the Panthers in the past 12 to 18 months.
Football CEO Justin Pascoe, Chairman Don Feltis, marketing guru Anthony Frantzis and head coach Ivan Cleary all parted way with the Panthers last year.
Long-time executive Sue McNeill also departed the club.
But Wilson is by far the biggest departure he is credited, along with Phil Gould, for bringing the club out of the dangerous financial position it found itself in a few years ago.
In 2015, Wilson was honoured on the Queens Birthday Honours list.
