And as the otehr idiot noted about the Penrith Players lost, why can you see Easts have let go, Heggarty, Cusack, Fittler, Crouch, Dorn, Hodges, to name a few.

Dont you hate it when your club is forced to let go of its juniors.....

3 unknown juniors plus Franze and Dyer? Am I missing something?

Gordon
Franze

You got Dyer, Brad McMillan (from Forbes), Dylan Crawley (from Coonabarabran), Michael Gordon as noted and Franze.

Thanks for that. I don't venture much to the official site because the news pretty much makes it here and I can't remember anyone mentioning those names. I have now gone and checked and found that those 2 are signed for Jersey Flegg. A bit of difference between Jersey and Top Squad which is probably why I can't remember the news making it here. ;-)

Disloyal bastards.

the words Peter Cusak mean anything to you
victum of the salary cap my arse

Thanks for proving my point. :)

What point you tool.

Cusack = $50,000 player

Victim of salary cap - Then you buy Amos Roberts for $200,000

Roberts = $200,000 - Victim of Roosters bottomless pit.

Franze = $30,000 - $50,000 he is a reserve grader, not the leading try scorer in the competition.

The word expert should not be associated with you

Thanks for proving my point.

How come the club let Paul Whaturia go to the Tigers knowing Girdler was retiring? Were you keen to keep him or was the Tigers offer worth alot more money?

Well we gave him permission to talk to other clubs before the June 30 deadline and we offered him an amount but the Tigers amount was too good. We basically let him go because we can't keep everyone and we were more keen to re-sign Roberts but didn't have enough finances to do so. I'm happy though we have signed 2 other centres to fill the voids.

"Tool"? Didn't that expression go out w/ the ark?

The respective figures you've quoted for both Cusack and Roberts are so innacurate as to be laughable. You are also guessing at the amount Franze signed for.

Until you can come up with accurate figures, your argument cannot be taken seriously.

Well think about it 'expert'. We lost a few players and we had $150,000 less to spend this year compared to all the other clubs in the competition. We re-signed alot of our juniors and key players with upgraded contracts because of rep status etc.. We signed Michael Gordon from the QLD Cup and Paul Franze who is a 'decent' centre but a reserve grader. Think about that then you can tell he would be on a contract from around 30-50 like Big Mick said. No-one is ever going to know the exact figures on what they are being paid you can only speculate and it's just common sense basically on what Franze would have been offered.

Well RLE.

We had roberts for $50,000. Saints we're paying $100,000, so our offer had to be $150,000, therefore your's was higher, and the figures i've heard are between $175,000 and $200,000.

One of your supporters quoted cusack as a $50,000. Are u calling them liars?

He'd be $75,00 at best, and if he isn't on that and more. What is the rest of your team on? christ all mighty!

Your argument holds no substance. I usually respect what u say, but this time, your off the mark.

How the hell do you "know" that you had Roberts for $50,000? How do you know Saints were paying $100,000? "The figures you've heard"? From the same impeccable sources, no doubt, that have Brad Fittler on $800,000 ...

The reality is you don't know diddly-squat about what players are earning.

My point was that the Roosters were called "disloyal" (whatever that means) because they opted not to re-sign Peter Cusack due to salary cap restraints, yet no such allegation is levelled at any other club when they do similar things.

There are certain people on this board who think individual contracts exist in isolation -- they don't. They exist within the context of all the other comings and goings at the club. When a club says someone can't be re-signed because of salary cap restraints, it doesn't mean there is literally no money left; it means that a decision was made not to re-sign that player after having factored in all the relevent variables, such as age, form, future potential, plus future recruitment and retention.

Making the player's salaries public knowledge would solve all these arguments.

Everyone knows how much a mechanic/plumber/electrician roughly gets per hour.

Everyone know what a teacher/nurse/policeman makes a year.

I don't know what the big deal is.

I've spoken to a few of the Penrith players and they know exactly what their team mates are making. It's not hard to find out what a player is on by asking a few questions. Why not just make it public knowledge?

Why do you people take the bait so easily?

I have to hand it to these Roosters fans.....they have the people on this forum wrapped around their little finger. They can go into ANY subject.....toss up a special....and laugh at the people that take the bait.

One of "Them".

I take my hate of to some of these Roosters fans. They can send some of the people here into a frenzy and they do it time and time again.

Quite true LF.....I think some people just bash the Roosters because they are successful, which I can't stand (I'm not even a Roosters fan btw). Some people on this forum also seem to have a huge hangup surrounding anything to do with capitalism/someone actually daring to make money/free enterprise.

I bash the goosters because they are all 'show ponies'. A lot of their supporters are also very arrogant.

I always acknowledge the fact that they are a very good and professional side, but if sh1ts me that they can fit $4m dollars worth of players under a $3.25m cap.
