Bit surprised to see Rodney in the second row... perhaps that is where he is destined to be, and another solid performance by the 'house will give him the number 13 for the start of the season.

It might just be because T is out and Rodney plays well out of his weight division..i know i would prefer T in the second row to Rodney and have Rodney at the back of the scrum!!

i would of given aaron barba a run in the centers, leaving Lewis on the wing where he plays best

Rodney plays well in the backrow, it seems perfect for him to slot into there considering Puletua is out injured. I hope Girds is sweet for round 1, Rob Weaver said he still hasn't resumed training and still is sick.

I wonder how Lewis will go at fullback?

You know his mum use to write on the PI forum in his first year and we learnt a lot about his junior days from her. She would always suggest that Lewis would do better in the centres and even better at 5/8 considering he spent most of his junior days in that posi. She is a very proud mum. :D

You made me think of that when you (lewis) wrote that he is better on the wing. It's funny how we are all use to him being there and expect him to perform his best there.

well ive always seen him play on the wing, and have seen about 2-3 games with him in the centers, and i reckon he's better at being a winger, maybe you all may think different

I reckon he's tops there.

I like the fact that we have big wingers...i know Lewis isn't all that big really but definately bigger than most wingers going around...or am i talking out of my arse here?

But i still wonder how he will do at Fullback. He is legendary under those high balls. :D

Sorry PK,but i brought up the theory of Lewis at fullback and Wesser on the wing while still a member of the other site and got laughed at
It would give Lewis more room to attack from and his vertical leap would defuse any bomb, while Wesser could use his pace and low centre of gravity like Utai ;-) ..I like it!!

so maybe a backline of:

1. Lewis
2. Wesser
3. Girds
4. Fatts
5. Roons

Gotta have Fatz there! ;-)

I'm quite happy with the current backline. With Girds out, Lewis slots into the centres and the Whippet (Howland) on the wing.

Galea probably wouldn't get a look in unless another back is out, but he can pack down in the second row too apparently.

I'm surprised that JL doesn't experiment a bit more with the backline. They are all such talented players, you could chop and change them around a bit, and not upset the apple cart too much. I think Wesser would go o.k. on the wing. You could use him a bit like saints use Blacklock, in a roving sort of a role. I would also like to see Gower play a bit more at 5/8 and Presto slot into half.
Ps. I don't think we have to worry too much about Utai for a while, that tackle on the Canberra player is one of the worst I've ever seen. He deserves to cop at least 6-8 weeks for it, but will probably only get 4.
