Parra Power into the GF.

Well some good news to come out of the weekend, Parra Power beat Perth Glory 4 to 2 and won the major semi final.

I think that puts them straight into the GF.

Unfortunately Twizzle we still have to go to Perth and win over there or at least don't get beat by 2 goals or more.

But the boys played super yesterday.
Job is not over yet, but if we can repeat the performance Parra Stadium will be seeing a grand final!!!

Over 6000 there yesterday and the atmosphere was fantastic. Hopefully we can fill the stadium if we hold the grand final.

They deserve a great crowd, they play some very attractive attacking football which I doubt we will see again in the future.

But I did hear a rumour yesterday that would excite the Power fans regarding the future of the club. :shock:

IMO it would be stupid to do all the ground work, get a great team, coach, club and then let it all go once you have become the benchmark of the comp especially considering the new make up of the comp next year. EG Lowy show!!

Freak....dont know your sources but mine have the power to be a million to one to be around next year. Even if they were around, it would hardly be the same side as all NSL contracts expire at the end of this year.

Most likely scenario is that a sydney side, similar to adelaide united, would be based out of parramatta stadium.

But geepers, a couple of those strikes yesterday were world class, would not have looked out of place on a europeon highlights reel. And the quality of the match was several classes above what I've seen ofg the other finals matches

Excellent game. Both sides went out there to attack, played the game at full throttle and great to watch.

Get over to Perth, hold them ( tough, but possible ) get a result and bring the Grand Final back to Parramatta.

You could be right Fish Eel, but something tells me there are few cards staying very close to the chest, the rumour was simply that. A RUMOUR.

But IMO the rumour would make a hell of a lot of sense. The Power have a great product and you can just sense it is just about to take off with Lowys new National League. Sponsors love success and Power have this success, and with the inclusion of TV coverage next season, not only would you get majority of sponsors back but you would also pick up many new ones I would think!!!

Fitzgerald had a big punt on Soccer at the wrong time, and now when it is the right time he wants to throw it away!! :roll:

What you are saying does make sense Freak. But I guess there are two obstacles, one being the money men arent keen, and two, the power brand name, whilst succesfull and possibly attractive to sponsors, doesnt, from what I understand have much credibility in the broader grassroots soccer community.

My gut feeling is any chance of survival they had went when FIFA, in announcing the new world club challenge decided that this years NSL champions would be get a start.

It would have been very tempting for fitzy to stay involved if a fist full of dollars and real madrid and arsenal fixtures in japan were on the agenda.

Geez....sure beats talking about saturday night!

Get this latest news. If we do beat Perth and make it into the Grand Final then the Final would be played at Parra Stadium. That is until... Denis Fitzdickhead writes to the Soccer board and says that it should be played in Perth because they will get more sponsorship money. Good to see that he doesnt only screw over the Rugby League side of things. For the Powers fans sake I hope this doesnt happen as it could be the last time they get to watch there team (I havent heard no rumours Freak )

I am outraged as a Parra Power fans since inception to hear that fitzdikhead is screwing us over. For...you guessed it...money. The fact that if we beat Perth at Perth to win the right to host the grand in Sydney. Not Parra Stadium as you cannot use the ground you are based at hence why the grand finals over the last few years have been played at Subiaco Oval not Perth Oval known as MES. That doesnt make it anymore right to do it. He says if it is held in Perth it will sellout for sure and that he will get more money. DURR FRED. Itwill be the LAST GAME of football in this country's national league. The 2 best teams all year fighting for their teams name on the trophy. It will sellout guaranteed. The publicity it will get will be incredible.
Just tghink for a second how the players would feel as well knowing they busted their balls and played their arses off to win the right to play in front of a home crowd is taken away from them and forced to be played at their oppositions ground in front of their home crowd.
