Asquith suffered its first reverse for 2004 when beaten by Wenty 28-10 at Storey Park on sunday. Asquith went into the game with 3 wins as well as trial victories over the Jim Beam teams from Newtown and Ourimbah and the North Sydney Premier League team.

Wenty have now registered 18 consecutive wins. Dave Penna has obviously done a good job with his new squad considering that he has lost 7 key players from 2003:

Willie McLean, Nathan Jordan & Dom Mazzoleni are playing with Wenty JB, Francis Betham, Casey Ellis & Mick Mallia are playing with Cabra JB and Wade Lestrange is playing with Newtown Premier League.

In other games Auburn Warriors beat Mounties 34-10, Cabra beat Seven Hills 60-10, Hills beat Guildford 30-18.

The table is:
8 Wenty
6 Warriors, Asquith
5 Cabramatta
4 Hills
3 Guildford
0 Mounties, Seven Hills
