Can someone please tell me why the Parramatta Junior comp has joined the Canterbury Comp?
I'm heavily involved with my club and we have lost whole teams due to this issue. Several other clubs have also lost players. I'm sure we are going to lose more once other parents find out.
Our comp was big enough already and stretched a great distance. Parents can't afford to be driving even further. Then comes the reputation of the Canterbury comp. They haven't cleaned it up like Parra and some of the crap I hear is shocking.
We have have now lost the fabric of OUR junior comp and the only winner is Canterbury. Who ever agreed to this crap should be fired
Here is the announcement

Western Sydney Districts join Forces to continue growing the Game in 2022

Authorparraeels.com.auTimestampMon 18 Oct 2021, 02:49 PM

From next season, Parramatta and Canterbury will combine all ages and divisions from the U13’s up in a combined Parramatta and Canterbury Competition.

During the last few seasons, the 20’s to A Grades plus the U14 – U18 girls have been playing in this format. It has provided a wider level of competition across these age groups and as a result, it has seen these age groups grow in numbers.

Last season, albeit only for a few games, the U15 Division 1 boys’ teams across the 3 districts of Parramatta, Canterbury & Western Suburbs combined, prior to the suspension of all competitions due to COVID, the feedback received from all teams was that they enjoyed the opportunity to do this.

With the Western Suburbs district moving to participate with Group 6 in 2022, we have looked at a way to strengthen the game across both, the Canterbury and Parramatta districts.

The U13s up in all divisions will play in the newly combined format and the season will run over 14 rounds.

The regular season will commence from the last weekend in April as below:
Friday night 29th April - U18 Boys
Saturday 30th April – U13 through to U16 (including U14, U16 & U18 Girls)
Sunday 1st May - U20 through to A Grades and Open Women’s
Grading nominations will need to be lodged by Monday 11th April and Re-grading will take place on Monday 6th June after round 6.

All competitions from the U13s up will play in a top 5 format over 4 weekends. These will be in the gala-day style format, where one venue will host the whole age group from division 3 to division 1. The Grand finals will be played over the weekend of 9-11 of September 2022. Further details will be shared with all regarding this prior to the commencement of round 1.
As per all competitions over the past few seasons, they will be governed under NSWRL Conference Competition Handbook and the NSW Community Rugby League Association Policy & Procedures Manual.

These can be found on the below link.

U6 to U12 competitions will remain separate to each district and season information will issue from the junior leagues in due course.
We look forward to the game growing and going from strength to strength with the hope of playing a full season of Rugby League in 2022.

Will seems as smart off the field as on it, lock him ASAP O'Neill. FFS NO EXCUSES!!!!
Problem being that his BFF Joseph Suaalii is getting buckets of never ending money from the Roosters. Hard to match that.

I'm sure it's all above board as well..................

At least Will was an Eels fan growing up, he seems happy playing with his mates also.

Did Louizou get injuries or just another victim of our lousy development?
He was a big time prospect.

That’s okay but I watched reggies last week and Op was clearly a lot better than him. He isn’t going to be the player we hoped.

Dude he’s still eligible for S G Ball.

But (Jordan) Rankin is still concerned about the effects media speculation has had on him over the past 12 months, all before his 18th birthday on August 1.

“He is already put in a position where he’s meant to be something,” Rankin said.

“And to do that to a kid who hasn’t even played against men is a massive, massive deal.

“I strongly urge anyone who thinks he’s ready to just think about it a little bit more.”

He turns 20 in December. Playing reserve grade at 19 isn't a sign of slow development.

From what I read has had 2yrs of injuries which has interrupted him. I've only seen small amounts but he looks strong and a solid prospect. One game in NSW cup isn't enough to judge him. Lets see mid year what he is doing. Opacic is no slouch. He would be one of the better defensive centres in the NRL. His attack just isn't much chop.

Watching Harold Matts right now.

I really like the two centres. Both are tall strong n fast: Richard Penisini and Michael Gabrael.

Special mention to the 7, Lorenzo Talataina who looks like he has all the skills.

Young Matt Arthur is hooker. He’s very nippy and energetic. Looks like he is playing up a year or two, but does not look out of place. Has good vision from the ruck and has a low 40/20 type kick in him.

All the wingers/centres in this years HM’s have flashed some great potential including Junior Fagalele who isn’t playing today. I agree Arthur goes well at hooker but his size will be the main issue in his development. The halves Talagi and Talatania also have potential but have been hit and miss in the games so far.
